Look how big I am!

Sasha was very patient with Brady. She had to endure this daily while we had her.

Hi!

So, since there is so much stuff that has happened since the last time I wrote on this thing, I thought I might sum up the events of the past few months in a short list:
First off, I tried to change my background, and not only did it not work, but it erased all of the bloggers I had on here.
We moved.
We got a dog.
We got rid of a dog.
I got a job working from home.
Jayden is crawling.
Nick went back to his old job.
My sister came from South Carolina to visit us recently.
Brady is in summer school, however, today is his last day.
We might get to go to Nauvoo in a couple of weeks (and I will get to see MORGAN!!!).
Brady turned 5.
I turned 27....ugh.

Now for the summer school story... Summer school started for Brady on June 4th, and he turned 5 on June 5th. We have been on the fence on whether or not to send him to kindergarten this year, or wait one more year, so we thought summer school would be a good way to test it out to see if he is ready. Apparently not, as I got a call from the principal last week saying, "Brady is just having a hard time at lunchtime with being appropriate. Today, he was spitting...well, not spitting, but making a noise with his tongue and pretending to pass gas, and he was doing it in the other kids' faces..." That’s my boy. We sure teach him well! LOL. I think I finally felt what my mom probably had to feel several times raising six obnoxious children. I just wanted to yell, "I swear we don’t let him do that at home!!! That's not what we taught him." Hopefully, she understands that. I thought it was funny overall because it falls in line with his personality to a T. I don't know where he gets it... So, needless to say, that incident, plus all the times that he has come home and mentioned that he had to sit out for recess because of something he did, has proven to me that he may need one more year to mature before he's ready for kindergarten. That’s all the time I have to write right now, but I thought I'd leave some pics for anyone who is interested!

Mom gave it a try!

We haven't had much going on lately, so I thought I'd post some pics from around the house. Today we had a playgroup at this place called Fun Run. It was awesome, and Jayden slept so I was able to have some one-on-one time with Brady for a while. Also, I PASSED MY FINAL WITH HONORS! Now on to the job hunt!

FIRST SNOWSTORM

So we did have a white Christmas. The pictures are actually of like a week before, but it did snow again. This year was a great one. Nick and I tried to see who could spend the least on the other. Luckily he is not as Craigslist--or thrift store--savvy as I am. I got a practically brand new Guess Who game at the thrift store for $1.48--of course that one was for Brady and not Nick. They had all kinds of things there! We got a lot of new games for family home evening. As before, we got Guess Who, Twister, and Operation. He wanted the new Killers CD, and I was able to download all of the songs and print off the CD cover--so, that one was FREE for me! Brady had a great time. My sister had a Harley power wheels that her kids are too big for, so she gave it to us and it only needed a new battery and charger, so that was a steal too. Santa brought Jayden some toys that were strikingly similar to some of Brady's old ones. Ahhh I am so glad that Brady isn't old enough to notice! One of the toys that Brady is still having fun with is the roll of tape I left in his stocking. He is always wanting to use mine and I only give him a little at a time. It was funny to see him get excited--"Mom! Santa brought me candy, and a book, *gasp* and TAPE!" The thing that we have been the most occupied with is the Nintendo 64 we found on Craigslist--it was an awesome deal.

This is Brady's first experience with video games and I swear it is SO entertaining to watch him play and move the controller the way he wants Mario to go. I get a kick out of it every time. I've been going down memory lane playing Mario Kart.

Am I Getting Old?

I hope I am not, and that this isn't a sign of my age... I was making some Christmas presents and Brady was watching Disney in the other room. I guess after about 6 p.m. the shows for older kids come on. So, that show iCarly came on, and within about 10 minutes, two of the characters used the Lord's name in vain--ON DISNEY. Here, I was thinking it was safe, and then that happens. It is so frusterating to try to teach Brady that he is not supposed to say that when he can hear it everywhere it seems. Also, just now, while making dinner, a cartoon came on after the one Brady was watching that was I guess for "older" kids once again. The subject was about a guy that went to a spa and was trying to convince his friends that they should go because, "The girls are like almost naked there." Am I just crazy? Isn't this too extreme even for kids of the "appropriate" age? I just don't remember that subject content being on shows I watched growing up. Help me know I am not crazy please!

Nothing Much...

Just thought I'd update that I finished my final and am awaiting the results in two weeks. Good thing they will come after Christmas--that could make or break it for me this year!

Precious...

Ok, this is actually a continuation of my last post, but it was so sweet that it deserves its own spot. This morning, I was in the bathroom (which is right across the hall from Brady's room) and Jayden was sitting in his bouncy seat right outside the door while Brady was getting dressed in his room. I opened the door to find Brady's door closed and a missing bouncy seat and baby. I got a little worried and quickly opened Brady's door to find this...

Halloween, Thanksgiving, etc.

First and foremost, I need to let you guys know that, yes, eventhough it took me over a year...I HAVE FINISHED MY MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION COURSE!!! I only need to take the final--the only grade we get...no pressure. After they take TWO WEEKS to grade it, I find out if I passed. No worries, you get 3 chances to take it.

Well, I the more and more time that goes by and the more events that I DON'T blog about just makes me procrastinate it even more by knowing that I have so much to write. So, I've decided to sum up the the events so that I at least get some of the details out.
HALLOWEEN: Brady was spiderman. He had the regular costume, but they had since then made the costumes with built in muscles. We went to a Halloween party and walked into the room where a kid had the muscle kind and he and Brady just stopped dead facing eachother with about 2 feet between them. I swear you could hear the music from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly playing. They stared for a while, when after a few minutes, Brady pinched the other kid's "pecs" and asked, "Is that your skin??" He was amazed. Jayden wore Brady's old pumpkin costume and trick-or-treating went very well.
THANKSGIVING: Thanksgiving went very well this year too. We all went to my mom's and ate a lot of food. My sister Jill and her family came too, which was awesome. She has the cutest kids! Nothing too exciting happened other than that. Sorry about the lack of details, but I'm trying to hurry! I don't have any pics on my camera from then, but my sister took some and as soon as she emails them, I will post!
TAGGED: Quite a while ago, I got tagged on Tara's blog to list six quirky things about myself. Here goes briefly
1. Although most who know me well might describe my personality as a bit boisterous, I am actually terrified of meeting new people or being in situations where that is a possibility (i.e. groups, new wards, etc.)
2. I have socks to match just about every holiday including: V-day, St. Paddy's day, Easter, Christmas, and Halloween.
3. I very much enjoy doing things and solving problems by myself (much like Stewart of MADTv--"Nooooo, let me doooo itttt.") Soooo, I would rather spend 1/2 hour in a store looking for an item before asking a clerk. I carry a very detailed map in my car so as to find my own way around. I actually like math... You get the picture.
4. I listen to talk radio much more than regular--I am a nerd, but Michael Savage and Dave Ramsey rock!
5. I love cold weather as I am hot 24/7. I have been wearing a light jacket lately in the 30-40 degree weather we're having.
6. I like to vacuum, fold clothes, and iron.
