Community

At HRC, we are committed to developing mutually beneficial and sustainable relationships within the communities that we serve and, in so doing, raising the aspirations of and improving the employment and life prospects of local people.

Working With Our Local Community

How we support our community:

Part Of Our Local Community

We run a number of micro businesses within the College, so in addition to equipping our students with the skills needed to succeed in employment, we are supporting the community by providing facilities for them to use.

Drop in for lunch or dinner at The Atrium Restaurant, book a haircut or treatment at Inspires Hair & Beauty Saloncatch a show at the Michael Morpurgo Theatre, or visit an exhibition at The David Gentleman Gallery

Our CSCS Test Centre, based at the Broxbourne campus, enables individuals to take the Health, Safety and Environment test required by law in order to work on UK construction sites.

Volunteering In Our Local Community

We encourage and organise a wide range of volunteering opportunities that not only have a meaningful impact on our local area, but also offer our students valuable, real-world experiences that help them to grow both personally and professionally.

Whether they are gardening at churches, repairing damaged fencing in Lee Valley Regional Park, designing and installing themed window displays for charity shops, or helping to restore bark and gravel pathways, our students are developing their skills and learning the importance and value of making a difference within their local communities.

Read more about some of the recent projects we have worked on here, or follow us on Facebook or Instagram.
