| On the road to XHTML... |

| [ | Current Mood |
| | annoyed | ] | So, bit by bit I'm incorporating this crazy thing known as XHTML into my website. Naturally, I start with the index page of my domain (here). I'm tickled pink when The W3C Markup Validation Service validates my code, but am quickly taken back a shade or two when I realize that my layout no longer look like it's supposed to.
If you take a look at the index (once again located here), you'll notice that there's some funky chunky breaking going on between my top images and my table. The space is notiable in both Firefox and IE, but here are some specifics taken from a screenshot in Firefox:
• From the top of the page to wi_bl_00.gif -- 11 px • From wi_bl_00.gif to wi_bl_01.gif -- 2 px • From wi_bl_01.gif to table -- 14 px • From button.gif to wi_bl_00.gif -- 8 px • From wi_bl_00.gif to button2.gif -- 2 px
All of these should be zero.
I've yet to really find any place where I can discuss this problem and get an answer, so, like, if you have any information at all whatsoever (help for this, a link to a message board for XHTML help, etc.), I'd be super appreciative. Though I can make the layout look good using plain HTML, I'm really trying to take the right steps forward and get this to work and look good.

Please, please help:
I'm trying to incorporate the javascript show/hide toggle tag into a menu frame on a site I'm working on in FrontPage.
I've used the code before but I can't seem to figure out what I did and it's driving me nuts.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

I have two pages that I put together the same way. At least, I thought I did. On one, the code for font size works in all browsers, but on the other it only works in internet explorer. Could someone take a look and tell me what the problem is? I've been trying to fix it for a very long time.
page one - This one works.
page two - On this page, the orange text that says ** Adults Only ** should be smaller.

Hi all,
I'm an HTML beginner and now a friend of mine asked me to help him debugging his webpages (for a client).
The website appears in Firefox, but not in Explorer.
Can you spot the trouble line or tell me what code I need to add in order to make it work?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Julie :-)

Please let me know if I should copy other parts of the code. Thanks! |

Okay I've been looking at different css layout tutorials and was wondering something. Is it possible to do a three column layout with a header that links to an external style sheet. I've seen tutorials for this type of layout but they all look like I have to put the style sheet for the layout in every page. Am I misunderstanding the tutorials, which I'd easily believe being new to this? |

I want to change the layout of my personal fanfic site. What I currently have can be found at http://magical-worlds.us/scribblings/
I'd like my site layout to look something like this: http://moments.misplaced.co.uk/index1.php
I know what colors I want to use and I've already made myself a new banner for the header but I can't seem to find a good, clear tutorial that would go about showing me how to do all that. I only know basic html. The creator said she used css, div layers, tables and php to create the layout. I've tried visiting various css and php tutorial sites to teach myself but I can't find one that tells me how to go about writing a stylesheet step by step, much less create that particular layout. I've been browsing how-to websites all day and only ended up confused and frustrated.
Is there anyone who can walk me through how to do this or at least point me to a good tutorial website that dummies the process down so I can understand it? I use Mozilla Firefox so I need to know how to make it compatible with my browser too. |

I'm trying to convert my skins from version 1.1 to version 2.0.1. I have the old skins and the file that tells how to do it, but for some reason, I can't figure it out. It should be easy. Could someone help, please? |

Well Hi folks. I'll probably be kinda quiet here as I've got one of these job thingies but I do like helping people out as it keeps my leet skillz all fresh, or something like that. I work on a number of sites but my personal playground can be found here. Ok it's not the prettiest thing ever but I more use it for trying stuff out.
Oh yeah, and you'd think a professional web coder would have learnt to type by now. Sigh. |
