The Story Behind Hygraph
Born in Germany, Built Globally
Our founders, Michael and Daniel, met in 2015 while working at the same company. They shared a vision for a better way to build modern software and quickly realized that traditional CMSs could not keep up with the demands of multichannel products. So they set out to create a GraphQL-native CMS, and that idea became Hygraph.
Hygraph is a remote-first company with headquarters in Berlin, Germany, giving its team the freedom to work from wherever they are most productive. Our team is a diverse mix of cultures, talents, and backgrounds, united by the drive to build outstanding products and deliver the best solutions to our customers.
The need for better content management
Traditional CMS platforms are struggling to keep pace, prompting a shift toward more flexible, API-driven approaches. While REST-based, API-first systems helped bridge the gap, they introduce complexity and limitations that slow development and hinder scalability.
