One grant done...

9656 words total - much bigger than anticipated. But generally acceptable (even though I really researched and wrote this in 2 weeks). Check!

I should point out that I condensed like 2 whole days worth of work into 1 day and have been putting in 14 hr days for about 5 days.
Today:
wake up - 6am
pack for 10 day trip (fold laundry along the way)
clean out fridge
take out trash
arrange things for dog sitters
shower, dress
debate about canceling hair appt.
pack toiletries
leave house at 8:30am
return library books to library
fill car with gas
take food donation to shelter
arrive at work - 9am
write. write. write.
eat.
write. write. write.
check budget numbers
have secretary proof grant
get everything organized to submit -2:30 pm
print maps, hotel confirmation, plane ticket
print draft of grant to reread tomorrow
print review I need to do
Print two papers to read.
answer half a dozen emails
Leave work - 4:20 pm
Let dog out
Collect luggage
Get mail
Leave home - 4:40pm.
Drop off check
Get hair cut
Buy toothpaste
buy dinner
Leave town - 5:45 pm
drive 4 hours to conference
drink a glass of wine, watch the letterman show, Blog

Sleep - time?

Small Grant

Not quite done, but close. I have to turn it in before I drive to my conference tomorrow.

In the last 4 days I've written about 7000 words though! And I still have all the little smidgey sections to go: Why is this innovative? Have you anticipated potential problems? Another 2000 words at least!

Time for sleep now and cross your fingers that I can get up early, stay focused, and finish this in a way I am satisfied with between now and 5pm tomorow. (Oh and pack and change the oil in my car and get a hair cut too!)

I voted today. It took me about 15 min. No real lines to speak of. Let's hope it's that easy everywhere. But it's definately what everyone is talking about.

Yesterday - grading. This morning more grading. No real writing. Need to make a review sheet for my students' final and write the final and then I can be free of class problems and focus.
