Here's me, making an actual post to this brand-spanking-new Dreamwidth.
At this point, I don't know if I'll actually be using this account, so I'm not going to mess around with a theme or icons or investigate image-hosting options and all that until I know if I'm going to actually use it. I'm not going to panic and immediately exit Tumblr and all that; I'll see what they do, see if they actually make an effort to, for instance, fix their damned censor-bot or whatever-it-is that they use to flag the stuff they suddenly consider obscene. So, this might become my primary home on the 18th of December...or it might not. We'll see. At the very least, I'll use the account to interact with Simmers who do end up migrating to DW.
Right now, I'm kinda predicting that I'll keep Tumblr for hosting downloads (which for the most part haven't been flagged by Tumblr's Idiotbot) and put gameplay here, since that is being flagged and flagged a lot, because it's apparently sensitive to words and phrases that include "child" and "toddler" and "teen" and it thinks that, for instance, pics of pixel babies wearing only diapers and Sims of both sexes wearing non-revealing swimwear are obscene. So, if you're not interested in my gameplay -- I know it's far less popular than downloads! *laugh* -- I'm not sure you'll want to continue following this account. I just really don't know anything right now. We'll see what happens over the next two weeks.
That being said, there is a part of me that is actually sort of excited at the prospect of a journal-type format again. Actual threaded replies so that actual conversations can happen! Or is that a lost art nowadays, in the short-attention-span social media era? I dunno. But I'm kinda excited about the possibility...while at the same time dreading a clunky image-posting process that will likely drastically slow down my rate of posting.
Anyway, hang in there, everyone. Who knows? Maybe Tumblr will get their shit together. But if not, we all still have options.
