The Destruction Continues

San Francisco’s iconic Coca-Cola sign will be taken down amid Coke’s refocus on ‘digital media platforms’ | Fox News

The Coca-Cola billboard, which was erected in 1937, is slated to be taken down by the company at a cost of around $100,000.

That sign was a part of my environment for 35 years.  And now, like most of the rest of the city I used to love, it will soon be gone.

Having Connection Problems at the Main Site…Again.

Funny how I’ve been having all these problems in the final month leading up to the election.

You’d almost think it was a conspiracy.

But that’s just crazy talk, right?

Right?

Even this backup site was very slow to connect just now, although my broadband speeds, while down, are still acceptable.

It’s Six AM Here In Middle America

And the DP main site seems to be down.

Hosting Matters itself seems to be up, and it isn’t posting any problems to its twitter feed or its server monitoring site, but I can’t access the control panel for DP, or DP itself.

Hope you remembered to bookmark this site.  I’ll keep posting here with updates – which will probably consist of “Nope, still down,” until the sit changes.  If it goes on for a while, I’ll start putting up my regular commentary.

UPDATE: Still no change in situation, and nothing from Hosting Matters.

UPDATE: 8:40 AM here, and still no response from Hosting Matters. And if you’re reading this, you know the main site is still down.

Not Much Going On Right Now

Got my fingers crossed here, but we seem to be maintaining a fairly good record of fending off the various hacks, cracks, and other assault attempts on the Daily Pundit main site.

I hope we can maintain that status, but if not, and you can’t reach the regular site, do check in here.  If the main site goes down, I’ll post info about the situation, as well as anything else that captures my magpie attention.

Daily Pundit Is Down Under DDOS Attack – Again

Yes, Daily Pundit once again came under a DDOS attack starting about 7:45 AM PT today.

There seems to be an early morning time frame pattern to these assaults.

Unfortunately, the new mechanisms I implemented to try to thwart these attacks have failed.  The site is completely down with a dead server at the moment.  Hostgator admins are working on the problem, but at the moment I don’t have a time frame for a resolution.

My regular email is down, but you can reach me at [email protected] if necessary.

Welcome to the Daily Pundit Backup Site

I’d been planning to do something like this for a while now, but never quite got around to doing it.

Today, what with D’s main site being down for more than six hours (as of now) I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

I’ll add a link to the menu at the main site as soon as it comes back up, and I suggest you bookmark that link.  I’ll be updating and whatever here whenever the main site isn’t working.

This is a barebones site – no archives beyond what are created going forward, but it will at least permit the conversation to keep on going.

Thanks for your patience!

This Fish Stinks From the Head Down

The Obama campaign takes its vendetta against a political opponent to the FEC. The FEC staff, as part of an extraordinary campaign to bring down AIP and other 501(c)(4) groups, reaches out to Lois Lerner, the woman overseeing IRS targeting. Mr. McGahn has also noted that FEC staff has in recent years had an improperly tight relationship with the Justice Department—to which the Obama campaign also complained about AIP.

It’s becoming ever more clear that Obama won the 2012 election by outright fraud.  He used government agencies to not only suppress the vote, but to enable massive and widespread illegal voting for his side.
