Netflix sent me Fairy Tale: A True Story today. It wasn't bad; a bit schmaltzy in spots, and the ending didn't make the most sense, but it could've been worse. I swear I've seen bits and pieces of it before, mostly the ones dealing with the CGI fairies, particularly the long scene in the girls' room at the end. I think there must have been some Peter Pan/fairies special on TV several years ago using clips from this movie that I sort of-but-not-really remember.

Anyway, best part was Paul McGann as the father. The kids weren't bad, either. (Did you know that the older one grew up to become Nancy from TEC/TDD? I just found this out at IMDB. She looks so different.) Also, costumes and location shooting. Preeeeetty. (A secret to movie and TV-makers: if you set something at any point between 1850 and 1945, and particularly within ten years of 1900, you have my interest for at least thirty minutes. It's a sure thing.) But mostly yay for Paul McGann. *moves The Hanging Gale further up in Netflix queue*

Do you have fairies in your garden?
