Task Forces

Purpose

The IJIS Institute convenes short-term task forces to investigate and address pressing issues impacting the justice, public safety and homeland security communities. These groups bring together industry, nonprofit, and government stakeholders to recommend solutions and/or define next steps that may be accomplished by follow-on project committees.

Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy (FIGG) Task Force

This task force will address the proper use case of FIGG by criminal justice agencies and the private sector by providing useful information to help make important decisions on utilizing FIGG.

RMS Functional Standards Task Force

In 2019, the IACP CJIS Committee and the IJIS LEAC identified the need to revise previous versions of the standard functional specifications for law enforcement RMS to help guide agencies during the Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement process. This group was formed to develop the refurbished resource.
