About the Immigration Professor's Blog

We are thrilled to announce that the Immigration Professor's Blog is back online and running at immprof.com as an independent platform.

Since 2005, this blog has served as a crucial resource for timely information about immigration law, policy, and research. The Immigration Professor's Blog, previously located here, temporarily went offline when its previous hosting platform, TypePad, announced in August that it would shut down at the end of September 2025.

This is the first iteration of our new independent platform, designed to ensure uninterrupted service to the community. The final post on the original site was from Kevin Johnson on August 25, 2025; that post has been recreated as the first post to launch the new site.

We have preserved the historical archives, which we hope to make available for historical reference soon. Over time, we plan to implement small quality-of-life improvements to the site, enhancing user-friendliness and modernizing its functionality.

This blog is now an independent project of the editorial team with technical support provided by the web development team at Relevant Research. We remain committed to providing the same frequent high-quality updates that readers have relied on for nearly two decades.

We're excited to continue serving the immigration law community through this new chapter and look forward to maintaining this vital resource for years to come.
