About the challenge

Welcome to the Ingenium STEM Hackathon of 2024, where the brightest minds come together to create, innovate, and provide education for learners of all ages. This Hackathon will be 72 hours long, from June 14th at midnight (EST) to June 17th. Regardless of the amount of experience you may have, don't be shy to join our hackathon!

What to Build

For the Ingenium STEM Summer Hacks 1.0, participants are encouraged to create innovative and impactful projects that address various aspects of social good. Your project can take any form as long as it aims to make a positive difference in society. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Health and Well-being: Solutions to improve healthcare access, mental health support, disease prevention, fitness, and nutrition.
  • Education: Tools to enhance learning experiences, make education more accessible, or support lifelong learning.
  • Environment: Projects aimed at tackling climate change, pollution, conservation, and sustainable living.
  • Community and Civic Engagement: Platforms to encourage community involvement, promote civic education, and support local initiatives.
  • Accessibility: Innovations to assist people with disabilities and ensure inclusivity in digital and physical spaces.
  • Economic Development: Solutions to support small businesses, financial literacy, job creation, and economic empowerment.
  • Human Rights and Social Justice: Tools and platforms to support advocacy, raise awareness, and promote equality and justice.

Remember, your project should leverage technology to solve real-world problems and create a tangible impact on society.

Make sure to use the sponsor's prizes and software. They will greatly help you build something useful for the hackathon. Also, best use cases of the sponsors will have a shoutout on our discord server!

For your submission to the Ingenium STEM Summer Hacks 1.0, please ensure you include the following:

  1. GitHub Repository:
    • Share a link to your GitHub repository containing all the source code, documentation, and any other relevant materials. Ensure your code is well-documented to help judges understand your implementation.
    • Include a README file with a clear description of your project, the problem it addresses, the solution, and the impact it aims to make. Provide setup and usage instructions.
  2. Google Docs (for No-Code Projects):
    • If your project is a no-code solution, provide a comprehensive Google Docs file detailing your project. This should include the problem statement, your solution, the impact, and how it addresses the topic of social good.
    • Include screenshots, diagrams, and any other relevant materials to effectively convey your project's features and functionality.
  3. Online Project Link:
    • If your project is deployed and available online, provide a link to the live project. Use platforms like Vercel, Heroku, GitHub Pages, or any other hosting service to make your project accessible for the judges to view and interact with.
  4. Submission Video (Optional):
    • You may include a video (up to 3 minutes) demonstrating your project. This video should walk through your project, highlighting its features, functionality, and user interface. Mention the technologies used and how it addresses the topic of social good.
    • Upload the video to a platform like YouTube or Vimeo and provide the link in your submission.

Make sure your submission is well-organized and easy to navigate. Clear and thorough documentation will help judges understand and evaluate your project effectively. Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your innovative solutions for social good!
