The Writing Well
I know that you already hold deep wisdom – through your work, your practice, the way you guide others. Perhaps you’ve felt the pull to write for years, but the demands of your daily life keep pushing it to the side. Or maybe you’ve started writing – articles, reflections, notes – but struggle to bring your thoughts together into something clear and cohesive. Or you are a journalist by trade, and have the deep desire to write a book.
The Writing Well is a programme for practitioners, healers, therapists and more who want to write with intention and impact. It’s a space to develop your ideas, refine your voice and gain the tools to bring your words into the world.
If you need support in:
- Making space for writing amid a busy life
- Structuring your ideas into something publishable
- Unlocking creativity and writing with more flow
- Understanding the publishing landscape
- Making the right connections
- Sharing your message effectively and over time
Who am I?
I’m Kate, and as a publisher and writer, I’ve helped bring many books into the world. It’s really my favourite thing to do. I am always asking the question, ‘Is there a book in this?’ And if my inner voice says yes, I won’t rest until it become a physical reality. From the first time I watched two women cleaning someone’s house on TV (How Clean is Your House?) to asking a crystal expert how to cleanse my crystals (her reply was to ask them, at which point I knew she would write a book).
Do you have a book in you?
I know first-hand how hard it can be to get started with writing, whether at the beginning of a book idea, the beginning of a new chapter or the beginning of the day. It can be difficult to find the focus and stillness within to allow the words to flow.
Perhaps you are held back by your own inner critic; who are you to write a book? The fear of failure, and the fear of success.
Perhaps you are brimming with good ideas, and need help in choosing which one to carry forward, to translate your idea into words on the page.
And what do you do when it feels as if there is no flow? When the blank page seems to make your thoughts freeze. Or perhaps you find it easy to write but there is little structure to your words. How do you stay with your idea through the dips? And how do you explain it to others in a one-liner?
The Writing Well is designed to help you prepare well for the writing journey, to understand your ‘why a book?’ and who you are writing for; what it is you want to say; and how you’re going to say it. You’ll visualize the steps needed to bring your book to life, and the journey on which you wish to take your readers. Where does it begin, where does it end, and how is it going to get there?
Take your time in this moment to sense what a gift it is to have your words read by another, to be received in that way.
I will help you to dig deep and also to let go.
For those who feel the call to write but don’t know where to start, The Writing Well is the place to begin.

Testimonials

Writing with Kate is a joy. She facilitates the process of writing in a way that manages to extract the essence and leave enough space for the magic to happen. This is a gift. There is no forcing, no ego: like a gentle mother she brings the best out of those she works with. Everything she chooses to do has integrity and authenticity. Kate is the real deal and I have loved everything we have done together.
Emma Cannon

Working with Kate is a breath of fresh air. She’s non-judgemental yet clear in sharing ideas of what works and what doesn’t. She opens up the thinking in directions I may not have considered – and conversely helps to narrow things down and focus on what’s truly important. She’s expansive and specific. Being able to hold both these ways of thinking, simultaneously, is a true gift! Her expertise and experience is priceless – particularly in the field of wellness and personal development – and I’m delighted to be able to collaborate with her as we create wonderful things.
Henny Flynn

Kate has her finger on the pulse – understanding the trends in the market and when the right moment is to birth a book. She has a way of knowing a book exists before the author does, giving confidence to co-create, and through creative conversation will collaborate with an author to shape the structure of the book. She has unwavering belief, in the author and trusting they can bring a book into being. And a touch of magic! I don’t know how to describe this but Kate is the reason I’m able to write, there’s a little bit of magic that happens when we get together which means books get born. I love that! Perhaps it’s called ‘creative consciousness’.

Kate is great. Telling our story was a tricky thing to get right, but she understood us and our brand so well that we were able to focus on making our book as good as possible. She gave us great advice and clear direction – we’ll always be grateful.
Dan Germain, Head of Creative, innocent

Kate is an absolute joy to work with; her carefree and relaxed demeanour together with her positive and boundless energy totally belie her commercial nous and serious work ethic.
Aggie MacKenzie

Kate inspired me to write the book I didn’t think I could write in the way that worked best for me. As my editor she facilitated a process that meant I could be more courageous in my writing.
