  • Hello everyone Happy Tuesday. Von Marie here with you. It’s my day Today on the Inspired by…Blog and I am loving this weeks challenge-Frozen Treats and Card Sketch.

    Let’s Get Started:

I was so inspired by the colors in the photo like blue, lavender, and white. I saw cupcakes so I went with that and they can be frozen and yummy right? I also loved the sketch it’s so much fun. I stamped some cupcakes with Memento Tuxedo ink on white cardstock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The cupcakes are from a older stamp set Close To My Heart Cutie Pie. I stamped 9 like the card sketch then colored them in with my OLO alcohol markers.

    Image

I then stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set with black ink onto my panel using my stamping platform. My panel was then added to a A2 card base. I added a few snowflakes that I used from a Spellbinders die set DOM July 25 with white cardstock and glued them to my cupcakes. It reminded me of the snowflakes from both the theme and sketch photos. Lastly, I added some glitter glue to some of the snowflakes and to the cupcakes that had a topper. That finishes my card. I had fun making it!

You still have time to join us, challenge will end tomorrow Wednesday. You can add your link to the Inspired By…Challenge Blog by Social Media, Blog, Pinterest..ETC.

    Crafty Hugs,

    Von Marie

  • Who doesn’t enjoy a frozen treat from time to time? This cute mouse is certainly delighted with his blackberry buckle, double fudge, mint chip ice cream cone.

    Image

I used a wonky circles stencil to create a background similar to the inspiration photo and colored this cute mouse image from Art Impressions with copic markers. I was inspired by the beautiful colors of aqua and lavender and the frozen treats theme. How does the photo or sketch inspire you to use your stash? We would love for you to join us this week! ~MarDi

  • Loving these challenges and playing along. I have been enjoying the winter colors and creating cute winter themed cards. I was inspired by the colors mostly for this challenge and of course that it was a treat. I used a svg file from Lori Whitlock and her new Echo Park Winter Fun collection.

  • Hey everyone, Laurel here. I was pretty literal with the inspiration this week. I was inspired by the treats, treats, colors and theme. It gave me a good excuse to use my Cake Pop stamp set from Papertrey Ink. The Sentiment and Die are from The Stamps of Life. I realized, when creating this, I don’t have much purple cardstock, in any shades, I might have to change that.

Now I can’t wait to see how you are inspired and remember to share your creation in our Facebook group, so that everyone can see it!

  • Hello everyone.  Von Marie @vonmariedesign here today taking over the blog and I’m so excited about our New challenge Winter Knits #IB370 and we have a fun New Card Sketch for you.  If you are New to this challenge it’s really easy you can be inspired by the photo, card sketch, or both.  Link up your card to the linky on the Inspired by…challenge blog.

    Okay let’s get started:

    Image

I was first inspired by the lovely photo. I love knit hats and especially in the Winter.  I don’t own a knit hat with these colors but now it’s on my wishlist. Next, I was inspired by the card Sketch.  I love the simplicity of it.  On my card, I used 2 stencils from A Colorful Life Designs (use VonFan10) called Scandinavian Quilt 6×6 and I ink blended this stencil first for my background using white cardstock with Pinkfresh Studio ink cubes in Blue Jay, Warm Buff, and Slumber.  Next stencil I used Cozy Knit 6×6 and used Blue jay and Warm Buff inks on Kraft cardstock. I trimmed both my background and Kraft cardstock. My background is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I placed a strip of white stenciled cardstock in the center of my Kraft to mimic the card sketch.

    Image

I also used a retired stamp and coordinating die set from Reverse Confetti and these knit hats were perfect I think.  I stamped my images with the same ink colors.  I love the strings and pom pom. I inked the eggs of my Kraft hardtack with Warm Buff ink.  I glued everything to a A2 top folding Kraft card base and popped up 1 knit hat with foam tape.  Since my hats have sentiments it made this card even easier.  I had fun with this challenge and I cannot wait to see how you are inspired…

    Von Marie

  • Hi, it’s MarDi and I’m delighted to share my Winter Knits card with you today. My inspiration came a little from the colors, a little from the sketch, but mostly from the textures.

    Image

I used a mashup of products for this bear hug in a mug design. This card is full of texture, whimsy, and color pops from the light strands. Where I live, we don’t have extremely cold temperatures so whenever it gets below 70 degrees, we pull out our knits and wear them as long as we can, which is usually until the afternoon.

The background panel was created with the Cable Knit embossing folder from Sunny Studio Stamps. I used two other embossing folders to create texture for the bear’s sweater – Nordic Holiday from Taylored Expressions, and for the mug – Diamond Plate from Spellbinders.

The mug is from a die set by Frantic Stamper called Cocoa Cup and the rest of the dies are from a Spellbinders set called Festive Friends. The sentiment is from a very old club kit from Hero Arts.

I hope that you’re inspired to join the challenge this week. You have until the end of the day on Wednesday to link your project. Hey, if you’re finishing up with knitting or crocheting mittens, socks, beanie, blanket, or scarf, take a photo and link it up via your blog or social media account. We love to see how you’re inspired.

    Big bear hugs,
    MarDi

  • What a great gallery last week. Loved seeing all the snowmen! I am still wishing for snow here – instead we are getting a lot of rain.
