Meet the Team
Jason Bloomberg is founder and managing director of enterprise IT industry analysis firm Intellyx BV. He is a leading IT industry analyst, author, keynote speaker, and globally recognized expert on multiple disruptive trends in enterprise technology and digital transformation.
Mr. Bloomberg advises, writes, and speaks on a diverse set of topics, including artificial intelligence, cloud native computing, cybersecurity, legacy modernization, DevOps, no-code/low-code platforms and tools, observability, digital transformation, Internet of Things, enterprise architecture, mainframes, and hybrid IT, among other topics. He is also a notorious skeptic on the topics of cryptocurrency, NFTs, DeFi, Web3, and the Metaverse.
Mr. Bloomberg currently writes for SiliconANGLE, The New Stack, CIO, and other publications. During his five years writing for Forbes, his articles were often viewed by more than 100,000 readers. He has published over 2,500 articles (270 for Forbes alone), spoken at over 500 conferences and webinars, and he has been quoted in the press and blogosphere over 2,700 times.
Mr. Bloomberg is the author or coauthor of five books: Low-Code for Dummies (Wiley, 2019), The Agile Architecture Revolution (Wiley, 2013), Service Orient or Be Doomed! How Service Orientation Will Change Your Business (Wiley, 2006), XML and Web Services Unleashed (SAMS Publishing, 2002), and Web Page Scripting Techniques (Hayden Books, 1996).
At SOA-focused industry analyst firm ZapThink from 2001 to 2013, Mr. Bloomberg created and delivered the Licensed ZapThink Architect (LZA) Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) course and associated credential, certifying over 1,700 professionals worldwide. He is one of the original Managing Partners of ZapThink LLC, which was acquired by Dovel Technologies in 2011.
Prior to ZapThink, Mr. Bloomberg built a diverse background in eBusiness technology management and industry analysis, including serving as a senior analyst in IDC’s eBusiness Advisory group, as well as holding eBusiness management positions at USWeb/CKS (later marchFIRST), WaveBend Solutions (now Hitachi Vantara), and several software and web development positions.

Jason “JE” English is a Director and Principal Analyst, and CMO at Intellyx. Drawing on expertise in designing, marketing and selling enterprise software and services, he is focused on covering how agile collaboration between customers, partners and employees accelerates innovation.
Starting as employee #3 of ITKO he led marketing efforts for the development, testing and virtualization software company from its bootstrap startup days, through a successful acquisition by CA in 2011.
JE co-authored the book Service Virtualization: Reality is Overrated to capture the then-novel practice of test environment simulation for Agile development, and more than 60 thousand copies are in circulation today.
JE has broad experience advising and working for companies offering cloud computing platforms, blockchain networks, SaaS-based solutions, industry-specific marketing tools, supply chain management and gaming. A writer, documentarian, and community builder, JE has written, hosted and edited hundreds of technical news, education and thought leadership blogs, event sessions, podcasts and videos.
Eric Newcomer is Principal Analyst and CTO at Intellyx, a technology analysis firm focused on enterprise digital transformation.
Eric was CTO of WSO2 most recently, was also CTO of IONA Technologies, and is an internationally recognized expert in transaction processing, web services, SOA, and cloud migration. His books have been translated into multiple languages and are used as textbooks in universities across the globe. He shares a patent on mobile middleware technology.
Eric also was Global Head of Security Architecture at Citi’s Consumer Bank, Chief Architect at Citi’s Treasury and Trade Services Division, and Chief Architect at Credit Suisse’s Investment Banking Division.
Eric started his career in technology at Digital Equipment Corporation (now part of HP), where he was a Distinguished Engineer and Transaction Processing Architect.
Eric has contributed to many industry standards, including OSGi, Eclipse, SOAP, WSDL, UDDI, WS-Security, OTS, AMQP, STDL, and XA. He is co-author of the OASIS WS-Transactions spec and chaired the Java based OSGi Enterprise Expert Group. Eric also served as a Director on the OSGi and Eclipse Boards of Directors, and oversaw IONA’s open source projects. Most recently he led WSO2’s transition from data center software to cloud software as a service.
Eric is the author or co-author of three widely respected textbooks: Principles of Transaction Processing (with Phil Bernstein), Understanding Web Services, and Understanding SOA with Web Services (with Greg Lomow).
