Eligibility

The Citrix Google I/O Hackathon Contest (the “Promotion”) is open only to persons who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence. Employees of Citrix Systems, Inc., their related or subsidiary companies and companies associated with the promotion of the Promotion, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each employee of the foregoing companies are not eligible. Participation in the Promotion constitutes your full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.

Requirements

The Promotion begins at 7:30:00 PM PDT May 18. 2016 and ends at 9:30:00 AM PST May 20, 2016, when all Entries must be submitted. Entries are demonstrated for judging from 10:00:00 AM to 1:00:00 PM on May 30. (the “Entry Period”). Entries that are submitted before or after the Entry Period will be disqualified.

How to enter

To enter, you must participate, in person, in the Citrix sponsored Hackathon event, which begins at 7:30:00 PM PDT on May 18, 2016 and at least one team member must be present to demo the Entry for judging. Entrants will have the opportunity to view Google I/O keynote and sessions prior to beginning hacking, starting at 8:00:00 AM on May 18, with breakfast provided. Sign in for the event also opens at 8:00:00 AM on May 18 at the Citrix campus. All team members must check in and pick up badges on May 18, prior to the start of the Promotion. Teams may not exceed six (6) people. Each entrant (or team of entrants) must create and submit a project that can be demonstrated to the panel of judges (an “Entry”). Incomplete ideas or white-boarded concepts are not eligible. This is an open hackathon. All projects must be created from code built during the event. Entrants may not use code that has been written previously. Third party code (e.g. open source) that is generally available to all may be used. There is no confidentiality or exclusive right to an idea or prototype Entry when it is presented at the end of the Entry Period. Entries will be judged according to the following criteria: technical creativity and technical difficulty, as determined based on the experience of the judges. The judges will choose the three Entries that best embody the criteria above and will award first, second and third place recognition following judging at the end of the Entry Period.
