Innovative Strategies for a Sustainable Future
Accelerating the adoption, production, and consumption of plant-based foods across Europe.

ISAAP (Innovative Strategies to Accelerate Adoption and Consumption of Plant-Based Food) is a collaborative European project bringing together partners from Portugal, Czechia, and Denmark. Our mission is to support a healthier, more sustainable, and resilient food system by promoting plant-based foods and building strong national action plans.
About the Project
Inspired by Denmark’s successful national action plan, ISAAP aims to build and implement similar strategies in Portugal and Czechia, while addressing key barriers through practical, country-level activities. ISAAP is co-funded by EIT Food.

Through this project, we are:
- Supporting farmers in Portugal to cultivate legumes and develop innovative legume-based products.
- Expanding plant-based options in Czechia’s foodservice sector, while engaging policymakers and industry leaders.
- Building knowledge and resources for healthcare professionals in Denmark to promote plant-based nutrition for wellbeing.
- Advocating for national policy recommendations in Czechia and Portugal to accelerate the shift towards sustainable diets.
ISAAP aligns with EIT Food’s three core missions:
- A Net Zero Food System
- Healthier Lives through Food
- A Fairer and More Resilient Food System
Together, our consortium is working to build healthier diets, support sustainable agriculture, and strengthen Europe’s food security and resilience against future food-system challenges.
