There are very few demographics who are as in constant risk of abuse, rape, homelessness, and unemployability as trans women are. There is no one "place" trans women belong, so they group together like scared animals, desperately trying to make a "place" for themselves, often times only to find that they don't belong around each other either.
Where are we supposed to go? What are we supposed to do? Who are we supposed to be?
Is it possible to stay, let alone be a hero when all you know is fear and pain?
