As a nerd command line and “keyboard first” enthusiast, using hints can save a bunch of time over the years, not to mention their fun factor.
By “hints” I mean overlaying a letter or two on interesting text on the screen which you then do something with.
It looks like this:
As the underlying language that terminals speak dates back to before the invention of the cotton gin, that makes it impossible to map certain keys and combinations, including those with multiple modifiers such as shift+control, control+alt etc.
I had worked around this with craziness but now in 2024 you can do this in a sane(-ish) way – rejoice!
How excited am I to now be able to map control+shift+p to search all files?
