In den Bergen Wandern: Hell's gorge

This Sunday it was a very rare this year and thus precious bit of sunshine. So everyone around decided to go to Alps including us. We were not determined enough to go at 6AM so we decided to go where there should not be any traffic jams in the direction of Alps: at noon. After two hours standing still in traffic jams we finally got to Hammersbach.

So it was long past lunch time and we had to waste an hour to eat something before going up the mountains at half past three. Initially the path we walked was along a stream.
Image
Water in the stream is colored very vivid light blue, very close to what is in the pic. Any stream going from Alps here has similar color, probably due to specific mineral's composition.

8 more pics under cut.

The entrance to the gorge.

That is where they charged us 6 euro (на ремонт провалаущелья). After we paid I realized how to get there for free.

Inside the gorge it is dark, wet and very noisy. The best thing about the gorge is when at last you see some sun light at the exit.

Just after the exit the gorge becomes only marginally wider.

Only after few hundred meters we approached a place where the sun beams at dusk touch the valley.

On the way back we decided to skip the hell's part of hell's gorge, gain some elevation

and cross a bridge on top of the gorge.

As it is engraved on a plaque,

The bridge was built by a club of rock climbers of Munich and Nuernberg in 1888.

Finally we got back to the parking lot, it was 7PM.

The highest point of our ascent is covered with a cloud on a picture.

Elevations of our track:
770m-1350m-1070m-1350m-1150m-1300m-770m
Total gain: 1000m
