Koenigsee, Obersee

This was a second and I suspect last very warm (+3xC) weekend this year.

So far it was the best views from the places in local Alps we've been to, and the first one where the beauty of views match those we've seen in New Zealand.
Image
That is why the place was quite busy, I've seen several professional photographers with a model. Job is tough for both - water is very cold.

So this time there are a bit more images under cut than usually (14)

Though it is twice as far as our last week's getaway, it took us less time to drive there an back - traffic was busy but no real jams.

After we got to Shoenau, we quickly jumped on an electric boat going to an opposite side of a long long clear lake.

Image
Water in the lake is green because of algae and green "fjord" slopes.

Image
While on the boat a member of staff was telling trivia about the lake, joking about mother-in-law, etc. Then we stopped and he played a trumpet. The echo we've heard back was very strong and the sound was nicer than original one. Then the guy collected 1 euro coins from everyone on the boat (50+ persons). Is Finanzamt aware, I wonder?

First stop was St. Bartolomae church, very beautiful one and they serve great local fish nearby.
Image

Then after a short walk we approached an upper lake (Obersee). On the way we ate loads of wild blackberry. We were the only ppl who were collecting the berries, but after few minutes crowds started to join us :)

When approaching a higher lake the first glimpse shows the best view.

Image
Water color is amazing and way better than boring emerald green of a big lake.

I spent around 30 minutes swimming at different parts of the upper lake. I did not need goggles to see everything when diving.
Image
Diving was tough - while surface temperature was around +18C, only 2 meters below it was about +10 and I did not dare to dive deeper towards +4C. The tough thing was it was difficult to exhale when water became colder quickly.

I was not the only swimmer there - but everyone else were children.

Some of them spent hours in cold water.

Like a bigger lake, this one is located between rocks with 70% steepness.

The furthest shore of a lake is inhabited.
Image
It must be a logistical challenge to get supplies there from Shoenau.

Image
We did not go to that building because we had our lunch box with us, and when it got empty we re-filled it full with wild blackberries in about 10 minutes.

When looking from southern lake's shore the colors are not as vivid, but water is very calm.
Image

On the way back, we had to wait in a long line for a place in a boat.
Image
In the line next to us there was a girl with a butterfly. The butterfly was flying around her hat, landing and taking off all the time.

We drove back home at 7PM, when sun was setting down.
