Bridger's 7th Birthday!!!

Bridger Turned 7 today. He has had a great day but is dog tired. We opened family presents this morning and then he had a friend pirate party this afternoon. It was Pouring rain out side so we made due inside. We had a lot friends over. I told Bridger this was your first and last big friend party all in one. He loved all his gift and has played very hard today. We are grateful to have Bridger he brings us such joy. We have been through a lot in his short life. We have grown a lot, learned a lot and loved a lot and I am thankful for every moment we have had together. I look forward to spending many more special moments with him. He teaches me when I lest expect it he comforts me when I need comfort and he makes me laugh all the time. He is a wonderful child of God that I am blessed to have. I always say "I am so thankful
Heavenly Father sent him to me". Happy Birthday Bridger We love you!

School Day's

Bridger had his first day of school August 23rd. When I picked him up and asked how school went he said “Not so well”. It has been a tuff start with learning the basics of school to the academic rigor of first grade. He defiantly missed a lot last year. We are confident that he will catch on and grow a tone this year. We hope he has fun and learns to love school. In the last six weeks we have seen major improvements in his willingness to learn. The days are still long and he is utterly exhausted by the time he gets home. A couple of weeks ago if he sat for any length of time he would fall asleep. I thought I would be very sad when he went to school but I am so happy. For the first time he is doing something normal and our lives have a schedule. I am just happy for him and have only cried twice. I try to stay as busy as possible. I plan to work really hard on the Bridge Together foundation.

After the first week of school on September 2nd we got to call Bridger’s donor. It was his one year mark post transplant and we could release information to each other. We were both very anxious to find out about each other and talk on the phone. Her name is Kim and she lives up in Wisconsin. She and her husband have two kids a boy 13 and a girl who is 7. Kim is such a wonder full person we are so blessed to have her in our lives. It was a very special to get to talk with her. Kim gave us such a priceless gift that million’s of thanks will never be enough. It has been nice to get to call and e-mail but we can’t wait to meet in person. We talked to her just last night and when we hung up Bridger said “I want to go see her” I know the felling is mutual. Hopefully something will work out soon. Image
This is Kim and her family!

That Saturday to continue the Celebration of reaching his one year mark we had a get together with some family and friends. It was great we have had such wonderful support. Bridger had a blast with everyone coming over.Image

That next Monday labor day I ran my fourth triathlon of the year. I had hurt my leg a couple of weeks earlier so I wasn’t sure how I would fair. I felt like I did pretty well and when I red the results I figured I took 3rd so I wanted to wait for the result then I could get a plaque or something. I figured I worked hard this summer it would be nice to have something. So we waited and when the 3rd place name was read and it wasn’t mine I was very disappointed but thought well maybe 2nd. But nope, someone else name was read so we got up to leave. Then they read my name for first place in my age group. I was very surprised, and happy. Blake said well we have learned that you don’t know how to read a chart. But I guess I can work on that after I go running.

Image They gave medals insted of plaques. This is my oh so awsome bike. (I was probibly the only one in my group of riders that had stright handle bars.) I know I'm so cool:)

Last night was another Milestone for Bridger he lost his first Tooth! It has been loose for a couple of weeks and his new one was already growing in so I pulled it out last night he was very brave of course and just said “that hurts”. But it was already done and out by that point. He is so proud of his tooth he doesn’t want the tooth fairy to come quite yet he wants to look at it for a couple of days. He thinks it is very interesting. Blake and I wore laugh about how you remember the first couple of teeth you loose but what happens after that? Image

Blake's Mom the tradition of making Tooth pillows for the kids to put their teeth in when they loos them Bridger helped make it. It turned out very cute, and was just in time.

Too much Fun!

We have had way too much fun this summer. I Raced in two more triathlons improving my time with each, my mom flew in to help us drive back to WY. We stayed in WY for 2 weeks. It had been 2 years since I had was last home, it was way too long. We went to the Mountains, Boating, to Yellowstone National park for our family’s reunion and celebrated four birthdays. On the Drive home from WY we stopped at Devils tower, Mt. Rushmore (just barely dogged a huge hail storm in Nebraska) and bear country.

Bridger played so hard with all his cozens. He was dog tired by the end of the first day. He was a trouper and amid all the other 22 running nosed kids, and a strain of the stomach flew he stayed healthy! I think if he survived all that he is as he says “all Better now!)

He loved every minute of his vacation and didn’t want to go to sleep afraid he might miss out on some more fun. After we were at my Mom’s for a couple of days Bridger said “Mom, don’t let Grandma come in the house. I want to do something nice for her to thank her for bringing us here”. He wanted to vacuum her floor. Blake and I also hand a wonderful time. It was very hard to leave. Everyone had changed so much, and others not at all. But the love was strong and we can’t wait to be with everyone again. Below are some pitchers of our summer fun!
