Taking a Break

I wrecked our van on wednesday. My right hand is sprained and my left arm has minor burns from the airbag. typing is dificult, so i'm taking a break from blogging till my hand feels better. The girls are just fine, not hurt at all. I'll tell the story later, or just give me a call if you want details. Our old New Mexico number still works. Thanx for all of your love and prayers!

Well, I found this layout design that I really liked, but when I pasted it to my blog it had to delete all my lists and pictures. Let me know if you want access to any of my old pictures (Girls for the last 2 years). I'll keep most of the important stuff in my posts from now on.

I chopped it off!

Image

Actually I had Taylor cut it for me. It took three years, but I finally had long enough locks to donate to Locks of Love. I think I like having short hair again, especiall since I don'thave to do much to make it look nice. No more resorting to a ponytail! I did absolutly nothing to it this morning and I think it looks decent here, but I need to post a picture of it after it's been Imagebeautified!!! THANKS TAYLOR!!!!

Kallyn's Hair...

Image No I didn't cut it. She just wanted me to take pictures of how long her hair has grown. Her ringlets are sooooo precious! She loves braids because the rats can't get in her hair when its pulled tight!

Time Out!

Image Allison's been introduced to time out this week. She's discovered that she can climb. She has been up on the kitchen table, climbing the shelves in the fridge, sitting on the bathroom counter, and driving her mommy crazy!! So we made a time out rule and she started out so sweet we couldn't help but laugh each time she sat so inocently and waited for her minute to be up. That didn't last long. Now she has mastered the art of throwing fits and running away everytime we count to three (timeout warning). I wonder where she learned it from?

To The Orchards!

Image We went apple picking last Friday!!! The girls had so much fun! They couldn't believe I was letting them take things off the trees. And they each even ate a whole apple. The were sooo tasty. It reminded me so much of the apple trees I had in my backyard when I was a tiny kid. We used to gather the fallen apples and cut them up. Then for FHE we would feed some horses near our home. I tore one of my favorite skirts trying to climb up the big tree after my brother.
It's time for a season change!!! Friday morning we woke up to geese flying over the house. It must have been a large flock, they were honking forever it seemed.

Balls of Paint

ImagePaintballing is quite popular amongst the student clan here. Eric had all the boys come out and try out the yard.

The girls and I found the discarded paintballs after a small shower. The gelatin shells had softened up and after being pinched between the fingers splattered its paint everywhere.

ImageNeedless to say, we had fun! I think I shocked Kallyn when I first splattered myself with the red paint.

She was amazed that I could make messes!

Little does she know...

ImageThis is me and my sister at about the same ages!!!!

Mmmmm Berries!

Image
We have a small patch of wild Blackberries that Kallyn discovered next to our little stream in the backyard. She loves to run out and see if any berries can be found. I think that this is the last of them. It's getting to cold to grow anymore! Both the girls were really good at finding the tiny berries.Image

Two New Teethies!!!

Image
Alison has been super crabby since leaving New Mexico and now we know why!!! 2 new molars popped through last week and this morning we found 2 more bottom teeth. OUCH!!! No wonder she's been crazy mad! I was fortunate to catch this picture during one of those crabby moments, but her bottom teeth are harder to see, but much easier to feel! Kallyn found them! (Shocker!!)

Pool Party

Image
We had an Elders Quorum BBQ/Pool party Saturday and even though it was raining and very cold there were still a few crazy fishes that wanted to get wet. A friend of ours took this picture. I can't ever get good pictures of the girls, but this captures Kallyn and Eric so well.

Backyard Fun

Image

Our backyard is full of suprises!!! We found 2 frogs next to the house after we came home from the beach Labor Day. Kallyn loves looking for frogs.
This one was too big however and Kallyn did not want to catch it. She likes the smaller ones she can hold with just one hand.Image

Daddy caught it instead!

Then today we came home from a playgroup activity to find a snake out on the driveway warming up in the late morning sun.

ImageI hope it's not harmful. I think it's just a plain garter snake or a ribbon snake. Actually I hope that it eats mice and has dinner tonight under our porch!! Eric says he saw a little mouse scitter into a hole next to the house right where the frog was playing. I've been told not to plant tulips because the mice eat the bulbs before they can grow.

I can't get a good picture of any spiders because they hide on plants that make their legs dissapear when I take a picture. But the legspan is as big as myhand. They mostly stay outdoors, but when we first moved in there were LOTS of spiders in the dungeon!!!

Back to the Beach

Image

We celebrated Labor Day on the beach. All of the Law students that could make it took a day trip to the beach here in New Hampshire. We drove to Walice State Park beach. BEAUTIFUL drive on a BEAUTIFUL day. Clear skies and nothing more than a breeze. Image

Again, Allison had a great time digging in the sand, and she even tried the water a few times.

Kallyn had a hard time not always getting her way. I feel like this sometimes!!!!!

ImageWe had our last summer fling on Thursday before school started. Some of the 2nd year students and their families invited us to the beach with them. We went to York Beach in Maine. I always wanted to go to Maine, the farthest east and north I've ever been. The water wasn't warm, but that didn't stop the girls from getting wet! Kallyn had a blast running away from all of the waves and Allison was content digging in the sand.

ImageHere's our Bay Watch babes!!! Kallyn and her friend Kya had so much fun playing together. They are in Nursery together and Kallyn tells me that she can't wait to play with Kya again. They could be twins. They look so much alike with their blond curls and blue eyes and wild imaginations.

ImageWe've gotten through the first week of school and I think that Eric really enjoyed class for the first time in many semesters. It is a very different type of learning and he needs to develop different studying techniques in order to be most efficient in learning. He has made so many friends from school who all tell him that this year is going to be tuff, but you just have to stick with it. Yesterday he had all the guys from the ward that are students come over to our house for a game of paintball. Our landlord just had some of the trees cut down so there is running room in the backyard. I watched the kiddies and we watched them plaster themselves with paintballs. But they had a great time! It's a great way to vent all the stress of school in a short period of time, then go home and hit the books.

ImageWe've been given callings already, they'll sustain us next week when we give talks. Boy that's quick. I was hoping to have a while before compiling another talk. We just gave our farewell talks a month ago and unfortunately those topics are nothing similar to our new topics. We'll see how it goes!
