I'm looking for a book on JDBC. What it is, what it can do for you, how to use it, etc. I know there are lots of on-line references, but I hate reading large amounts of material on-line. I'll be using Cloudscape as the DB, which I've also never used so any book that uses Cloudscape (or even Derby I guess) as their example set would be perfect. I do know the basics of DB's and I've used Oracle before but I'm definately no DBA.
I did find Beginning Java databases by Kevin Mukhar, Todd Lauinger and John Carnell published by Apress. But it's out of print already which makes me wonder if it was any good to begin with?
