Help Wanted: OSS Internet DJ/Radio software
Hi javinators!
After a few weeks of batting around whether or not to go forth, a couple friends and I have decided to move forward with creating an open-source internet broadcasting program intended for DJs. This is intended to be direct, OSS & cross-platform competition to SAM Broadcaster, using Winamp with Shoutcast's DSP, etc.
'Basie' (because it uses Swing, get it?) is moving forward with requirements engineering and will have a specification document with some wireframe window layouts up soon.
The team right now is composed of several potential big users willing to help out with requirements engineering who are willing to commit to Basie once it is superior to SAM, and myself right now (a CS undergrad with some java skills but not much expertise in java specifically, and a lot of DBA experience), so pretty much anything from basic competence on up would be helpful!
Those with experience working with Java Sound (or another audio library), Shoutcast/HTTP streaming technology, etc are especially needed.
