I hope this isn't an intrusive post...
...but I'm in need of some help, and you look like some folk who actually know wtf they're doing.
A little disclaimer: I myself am stupefied by the whole concept of Java, but my husband, who is Super-Computer-Help-Desk-Guy for an electronics company, is pretty good at it. It's just that he's at work, and I'm the only one with an LJ, so I have to relay his message as best I can. (In other words...I *am* one of those annoying noob-types, but putting up with my ignorance is really for a good cause, I swear!)
Basically, Hubby is trying to re-create the function of a site's address bar for the company website. He needs to insert a text box, into which an employee can input the URL of a remote site, as well as a 'go' button that when clicked will link to that corresponding page.
It sounds so simple, but there's no code for this specific function that either of us can find.
