Good recommendations?

I have long done GUI for the web, but I'm *very* weak at Swing and desktop GUI having never really been introduced to it.

I'm *very* picky about having nice neat concise and NON-spaghetti code, but all of the examples I've seen for Swing programs are very non-gracile.

Does anyone have any good recommendations for Java GUI design and program structure using Swing? Preferably online - I'm willing to sign up for free accounts, but I don't have the funds to get books. I *do* have access to Safari, though - so books aren't out of the question - I just have limited access to bookshelf room.
