Linking Frames Together

this may be stupid question.. but i'm a really beginner in programming..

i'm trying to link together two frames and i don't know how to do it.

my first frame has two checkboxes in it.. and i want a new frame to pop up when you click in one of the checkboxes. i thought maybe it had something to do with a mouseClick event tied to the checkbox.. but i can't figure out for the life of me what to do next.

any help??
