I'm new here .....

Well i am new to this community , but not new to java , yet i am still learning mainly because i have a thirst for all around computer knowledge , i like the java programming language particularly and also sadly enough i only know console java and yes when you jump into your favorite irc client , you will get your group of very l33t individuals who say "you only need consol" and yes this is true ... but the average computer user these days appreciates a nice refined GUI to work with , am i right? anyhoo ... on to my first question for this community ... does anyone know where i might be able to find a tutorial on how to take a console program and turn it into a graphical one?
