"Hello World" Newbie
It was great seeing this community appear, as JavaDev is an interest of mine. I have very limited (school only) experience with VB 4.0 (yikes...), and have been out of the loop for ages. So, I am wanting to learn Java (if only so I can feel better about myself).
I look forward to seeing what people have to share. Although I suspect a lot of it will be over my head, Whatever the case, I can't imagine a better place to pick up on how-it's-done.
Anyone else who is new to Java? Always good to make friends in the same boat....
PS: I got two Java books to learn from. They are, Java (How To Program) by Deitel & Deitel, and Thinking In Java (2nd Ed.) by Bruce Eckel. I also downloaded Sun's free Java development platform for my PC (running Win2k), and have the dev tools that came with Mac OS X.
