Listens: candy cane children - the white stripes

hmmmmmmm... I failed my java class last year. Not that I'd be any the wiser even if I'd passed... because I think this is pretty complicated stuff. BUT ANYWAYS, I have a scrapbook, and I have a picture of each page and want to use a script like the one I found to make if flip like a book and pause when you hold your mouse over a page:

http://www.eleven-minutes.net/scrapbook/

I'm really liking what I've done so far (this is mainly for family & friends... it doesn't have to be perfect) but I was wondering if there was any easy way to...

a) end the loop on the last page (there are 26 right now- eventually I'll have the first 50 or so pages also). It does a funny thing where it'll flip the pages around on the second loop.

b) obviously this will be embedded somewhere on a main page when I'm done.... is there a ways to preload these images and not have the script start flipping until the images have loaded? Or some other solution so that the first few flips aren't "blank" pages? I have a pretty fast connection, and most of the people viewing this will too, but still.

and if you can't answer these questions... can you point me in the right direction? I'm willing to struggle and learn by trial & error but I don't know where to start... and google is a tough place with this qeustion!
