The school year is almost over though I’ve enjoyed all the projects that we have done recently, to start off I believe I was most successful with the dream project. I think I did very well on my dream projects because I loved the way it turned out and how I pictured it in my head. The use of turning a sneaker into a house was delirious but that was the point of the project. I struggled on putting the little details in place and moving around the object like the door to a right angle. I believe that if I keep on working with art as to Photoshop my work will improve and I might be able to use it in the future…maybe in a job or hang my work up at an urban spot, I like to keep my work unique and add a hint of urban style to it. My favorite thing that I have learned to work on has been the whole use of Photoshop because I had never used a photo program that can transform many pictures into creativeness. The use of Photoshop was my favorite because I now know that the media such as magazine companies use Photoshop to make someone improve on their looks which makes them in to a whole different person. I will definitely use Photoshop in the future and my knowledge of how to use it. After I learned about Photoshop I’ve been pondering about installing it at home but I will surely get to that in the future. Later on in the future I still want to keep on taking pictures and explore new places such as New York and take pictures then create the mood of the picture to an urban like touch and of course also by using the program. The skills that I already have I wish to keep on using them and also teach my friends and family about Photoshop and also the new things I have learned about a camera, they will and are helpful. As to my quilt project….I’d say that project was the most connect towards my life and life experiences. It connected to me because every detail added and every picture meant a whole lot to me and my future. My life experiences affect my work of art just a little but my fashion sense adds up to in more because most of my work has sneakers involved, because it’s like a signature kind of thing to meJ. But it did affect my future quilt square because it made me realize how I see my future from this point, I see the world as a disfunctional place that can be fixing to ones opportunity and my opportunity is keep going to school and be devoted to what I really want in life. In the middle of the year we learned about Tom Friedman which who I really enjoyed learning about and he is my favorite because his masterpieces captured my eyes. I can say I relate to his work because it’s unique and it was inspiring, I’d like to do something crazy like his way of thinking one day. After I saw his work I started to believe that art is the globe, everything! I’ve seen growth and improvement in my way of thinking I now think outside the box when it comes down to thinking of a way to create something I’ve already done my masterpiece. Ms. Cook helped me out with this when we started working in our quilt squared and towards the dream project when we had to write down what we were thinking about…I really enjoyed that. Though my most meaningful project that I have created would still be the quilt because it shows what I’m all about and a bit where I come from, from a big family. My quilt squares are very meaningful to me because I’ve included my parents, brothers and sisters and they are my everything. Overall this year is coming to an end but I’ll let the art keep on rolling.

Blow Out & Panning
I created a Blow out effect by changing the ISO so that it would make the picture brighter I pop’d out the levels in photo to make it look better. An ISO of 5000 I believe was used, F8 and shutter speed of 1/2000. Panning is to take a photograph while something is moving to capture the movement though have an object concentrated. Panning should have a swirl effect around the picture or extra blurry around the image. I’d say I was not very successful with panning because I should’ve spent more time to take another photo. The steps were set in auto, shutter speed and ISO. I could’ve done a better job if I would’ve of a few more photos. Panning was difficult to capture because I believe I missed a step…?
Shutter Speed:
Shutter Speed is capturing movement in a photo also gives the dark a picture background a better look. The tone in the room was dark as the light was off and we used a flash of light from our cell phones to create shapes or words for an artistic picture. We set the camera to an ISO of 200 and set a timer to the camera, I think that this was really creative/fun. .My favorite picture is were we spell out CCHS I think its a very cool picture and it was fun because we spelled CCHS backwards on accident first. Overall it was entertaining.
Apature:
Aperture is how large the hole/eye view of the camera is, and where the light goes through. The SMALLER the number the bigger the hole and the LARGER the number the smaller the hole.*SHORTER the depth of field -gives the background blur
*DEEPER the depth of field -the background sets in focus.
* F2 is known as a larger aperture
* F22 is the smaller aperture and will not blur the background.
ISO:

Flash

ISO 5000
International Organization Standardization is ISO which the speed of the film that reacts to the light. I believe that the flash was used much better than the ISO because it added blur to the picture and made it not that clear and the flash made the picture brighter and with much better quality. During the changes of my photos I changed the ISO, I think the photo got blurry as the ISO increased, though I would rather use ISO over flash to make my picture look and have a unique style .

The Pros of using flash is that the flash adds light also freezes time and eliminates the blur. Some Cons of using flash is that the flash may disturb your subject, it gives awful lighting, distracts reflections, gives red eyes and hot spots. Its preferable to use flash when a photo needs more color and more light. Flash its not that great to use flash when you want to take a dark photo and when you want to see the actual colors and the natural sense of the photo. I’ve chosen this picture because the light of the car effect are well seen through this picture, the mixture of the lighting makes the picture an delirious feeling.
Metering:

A light meter is often used to determine the proper exposure for a photograph. In the first picture taken you can’t see anything, there was no light obviously because I also was taking the picture in a dark room. In the second picture I added the metering technique which gave the photo light to view at least the area and her face. What is happening is that I set the camera in a different mode so that light would come in as I took the photo but without using flash. They are different because in the first one taken you can’t see anything and in the other one I used a different mode that improved the photo. The spot metering can help me in the future because I will now know what the option on the camera does and will be helpful when I’m trying to take a picture in a dark area, overall theres is improvment.

Surrealism: Mr. and Mrs. Sneaker "Jays for Days"

Hello newlyweds I have revised and analyzed the significances of the dreams you have recently been dreaming about, I ought to say congratulations! The symbol of sneakers symbolizes wealth and health, the house roof top forming the sneaker as a home symbolizes trust and the light bulb in the starry night sky mentioned is for power. The elephant print symbolizes that there is a new pet on the way for one of you two that you’ll enjoy but its coming your way. The water, rocks and grass fall in about the same category which symbolizes effort, you both have strong potential in just about anything you set your mind to you’ll reach your goal. As to the pictures and flashbacks of you both means a strong lovable connection a dynamic duo “batman & robin” kind of thing. Summing up the two brains filled with dreams and symbols you both have a great connection, and big goals in life and you each help each other coup with and are always there for each other no matter what’s the situation. Seems to me you are very alike and have about the same interests, well lets call it a wrap! And keep those absorbing dreams coming.

Surreal Practice Tutorials

While working on the desert tutorial we used different images to create a full view. Some of the images that were used were off the internet but we made them look unique by dropping the, shadows overlaying and also popping out the layers. We made the desert look realist by adding clouds with brushes and also adding two different types of layers and adding gradients on the sky. While practicing on these tutorials it will help us be more creative in our own work because now we know how things can look after making them look unique.

ART SHOW: My Explicit Masterpiece
“Everyday is a fashion show and the world is my run way….fashion designer in the making.” My image would be an allegory of my past, present and future if you’ll look deep into I’ve added symbols, overlay pictures, florescent colors and aphotic colors to display my work properly and with expression. Each square represents significance and insignificance meanings to my life and how I imaging my future to be and what I will pursuit. Overall I took time and dedication to complete my explicit masterpiece!
Enjoy :)

Graduation Program:
My strenght on creating this design after looking at the other covers and designs from students was to think of somthing creative and not as the others. I could've done the "2010" straight but i choosed to create a dancing and falling effect on the numbers, which turned out cute & flashy. Graphic design is challenging, for this cover especially because it took forever and a day! But I was impressed with my work, this cover was my favorite. I thought it was tough also because the falling effects on the lettering took awhile and I took time and dedication thought the whole project. The most impostant aspect of graphic design is following what your customer wants and following the right format. Graphic design is huge in society and it's all over. Overall this project was tough but I believe my work was well done.Senior Portfolio Show Program:

After looking at the other students covers and designs my strenght on my design was to top all the other covers and make mine unique. I think I could have done the back cover diffrent but this one was more convincing and thoughtful. Graphic design was tougher but it made me feel proud at the end and seen how MY work had turned out at the end I was impressed with my ideas for the covers. I though it was tough because I did it all and fining the right brushes was also challenging. Graphic designing plays a huge role in society now days because it's all over and new name brands keep poping out. Graphic desining rules the world:)

Personal Quilt
My Quilt
About it:
Since day one that we started drafting about or quilt I knew what I wanted and what I wanted to include in each square. But never did I think I would struggled and I would take this long, although I have now accomplished my work of art I do ought to say it was a bit tough. Creating each square was journey, I ran out of ideas by the third one and had no clue on what to add on the next one, but I stayed calmed and refreshed my mind in what I wanted on the next one. I took a look at the quilts my classmates were working on and they helped me out though out the process. By looking at different quilts gave me ideas and also seen things that could’ve improved my work. Another thing about this project was that I brought in a couple of pictures of my past that I really liked adding and was satisfied on how they turned out in my quilt. Through out the project I did like how my quilt turned out and I believe it’s unique. The decisions I put out on there were perfect and made the whole quilt look flawless. But I must admit that some things that I wasn’t content about was that I still had two more things to add on but time ran out and I couldn’t add them after all, which was golf and a special person to me. My favorite square was “the outside of me” I loved love loved this square. I really enjoyed working on it because I had the help of other and my friends told me what they really thought about me. I added plenty of details and it came out really bright with all of the things they described me as. My least favorite square was “the inside of me” and once aging because I didn’t include something that represented golf and that one special person. Even though I forgot to include some things, the butterflies symbolize all my loved ones. One struggle I did have was that I missed a week of school and I didn’t work on my project for that long. Even though I wasn’t at school for a week I did accomplish to finish on time and to make the best out of it and just took care of business. Next time I will be sure to add all the items I wanted to add and stretch time. But overall I enjoyed working on this project because it was creative and in each square we got to express ourselves. Also working with this project on Photoshop we got to explore it all and now I know how to use more techniques, now for our next project I’m more than ready.

Artist Statement
Through out this course of my photography class I have learned plenty of new and exciting techniques starting with cameras to Photoshop. In the beginning of day one I was a rookie with all the technology materials that we were being introduced. Mrs. Cook started off with simple steps and also introduced the class and myself about different famous artists, I enjoyed learning about them because I wasn’t familiar with all these cool artists she mentioned about. We each have a portfolio for our class to share pieces of work we have accomplished, which is a great idea so that we can all stay updated including with the post page and also to share our portfolio from home to our parent and family or friends in general. I feel that by having a portfolio makes us more organized and also it’s an easier way so that Ms. Cook can grade all her classes by click of the main page, with the portfolios she knows what we’ve posted and is updated herself.
In my portfolio you will find pictures we have taken, the top ones are the most recent pictures and the bottom are from the beginning. Starting with the last picture my partner and I were practicing on comprehending the rule of 3rds, leading lines was a second type of picture that we took, my partner is standing on grass while being lead by sprinkler tops. We also learned about shooting macro shots, we got really into detail with this and also on texture photos. Using macro we really had to stay steady and close. After learning about macro we took extreme angle picture from a birds point of view and an ants point of view, this is one of my favorite techniques because I got to take a picture of my partner from an ant’s point of view and it makes him look extremely tall and it made his shoes looked big.
There are plenty of more styles of picture we learned about and my social issue picture was influenced by Barbara Kruger, an artist Ms. Cook taught us about. The most recent one has been the lyrics picture, we used words that meant something to us and also song lyrics and used Photoshop to create a really cool look to the picture by adding a shadow of words, and it was very artistic. Although I struggled with Photoshop I now know about layers, folders, paintbrushes and many more exciting things about Photoshop. Ms. Cook was very helpful and had a lot of patience waiting on the slower learners. I was most successful with the overlay pictures I like creating overlays and moving the pictures around as a matter of fact we also created a blogger header for the top of our profiles and we used overlays and text.
Through out the course I feel I’ve been successful by learning how to use Photoshop in general because I didn’t know how to use it at all, and I would like to download it at home and keep on working with it. I have seen improvement in my picture ideas I kind of struggled in the begging but now I just comes to me and I’m more creative. In the future I can improve on working more with backgrounds and creating settings for a fiction theme on a picture I’d like to accomplish that. Well hope everyone can enjoy my portfolio and picture.

Social Issue: Simple;is rare.

Social issue: it's not cookies and coffee anymore...
a black and white splat of picture has shades of diffrent types of grey on the picture it has material objects including heals, boots, purses, electronic, magazines, fur,& accessories. The female
is surrounded by the objects with text covering her eyes,as she holds on to her fone tight and magazines next to her. He hair is curled up and has a fur vest with plenty of accessories.
I came up with a way to create an image of how life is now days, it is really rare to find simplicity in a person. In my issue people have changed because of the material objects. Look back on how it use to be just simple as cookies and coffee as for the older women they use to ivnite thier friends over and just talk and drink coffee including cookies as they hunged out and conversate. In this society girls and women may think thats stupid but its reality, it really use to look like that like on (ilovelucy) well its not that society anymore but understand that simplicity in a person is somtimes much better, thats why its my issue on how people are now days..

Scary Effects:

My Favorite picture that we created was the vampier because we creates shap k9s to give our selfs a more vampier look, it was creative. The pull down tool was somthing new i learned and also will be helpful next tim i try to pull down on items. Some difficulties i ran into were adding the octopus legs into the picture it took 4ever. I think i did well on the burning tool around my eyes.
In a other job this this type of work can relate to would be like the people that work for fear farm but they actually need to dress up and add make up to thier faces and other body parts, unlike my work everything was done through a computer (")
Happy Halloweenie :p

Photographic effects:

Desaturate was an effect i enjoyed using for photoshop pictures then blur the edges one of the brushes used for my pictures was a leaf type that i included . I learned how to add more light in a certain area of the picture. My favorite in overall was using the diffrent paint brushes and adjustment layers to make the picture flawless.

Contact Sheet:

By creating a contact sheet it is easier to show all the peices we've taken so far. This also shows all the traits we've learned about. Although my contact sheet is missing my name on it i've added the tittle, simplicty, flash, framing, macro, extreme angle, rule of thirds and my light picture. My favorite one that i used was the light picture because light makes a picture look flashy and more unique. This one was the most difficult to capture lso because you need to be in in a dark place where light is coming through. The one i will probally use typical picture time will be flash so when its bright and im in a shade the flash will help out so i can have a better picture.

Compositional Trick #7 Drawing With Light:

(1s)
The "light" picture is to show and capture the beauty of light. By captuing good lighting there must be a darker area & light but the light should be coming towards the main attraction.

Compositional Trick #6 Frames:
Thursday, August 27, 2009
Compositional Trick # 5 Extreme Angles:
The Extreme Angles photo was to show an angle that was from an ants point of view or a birds point of view from up high.
The picture shown: Ants point of view

Compositional Trick #3 Macro:
"Macro helps the world be unordinary every day."
Using macro will capture insignificant things on your daily day objects and even sometimes on your lunch snacks; macro helps view the closer details.
Compositional Trick #2 Leading Lines:
The leading line picture is of course a line or lines leading you to an emphasis, it doesn't necessarily need to be a line but it can also be something creative that will lead you to an emphasis.
__________ ;;
Compositional Trick #1 Rule Of 3rds:
In my perspective point of view the rule of thirds is a picture taken with the main attraction not being plain but taken from a unique angle, also by picturing that your image is in a checkard board format so you can know how you image will look if it were to be on a rules of third formant .
