Halloween 2012

Halloween was a blast this year! Really, it's always fun, but this year was so much fun! We had our ward Halloween party on Saturday (sadly, no pics) and it was a huge hit with the girls. They both loved playing all the games. Brooklyn enjoyed trunk-or-treating even though it was raining, and Kelsee enjoyed it for a little bit until she got tired of getting wet. This year Brooklyn asked to go trick-or-treating on Halloween. The past few years we've just done our church party, but since we asked we decided to drive to a neighborhood and let the girls get more candy. It's actually the first year Kelsee's gone trick-or-treating so she was pretty excited. After the first couple houses when she figured out what was going on she had a non stop grin on her face for a while. Here's some pics of the girls in their costumes.

So Cute!!

I found this picture looking back through photos. It was taken in the spring after the girls shared a bed at my parents house. They ended up doing this for a couple nights after we got back home.

It melts my heart to see these kinds of things. I love being a mom!

Life

Life has been pretty crazy lately. Good, but crazy. Since my last post, Brooklyn has started kindergarten, Drew has started his last year of school, Kelsee is getting bigger every day, and I'm still plugging along. We had a very good summer hanging out with friends, and spending lots of time with family. We found out over the summer that we will be expecting a 3rd little Heber baby. We're very excited and can't wait for spring. Brooklyn is insistant that the baby be a boy, so I guess we'll see next month if she's right.

Drew had a dream that we were having twins. We had a boy and a girl, and he said we were totally freaking out. I, of course, told this dream to my parents since I thought it was so funny. A couple days later they bought these onsies. They were actually trying to figure out which one to buy, until my mom remembered Drew's dream, so they bought one of each. I'm happy with either one, but I do think Drew's starting to feel out numbered in a house full of girls. So all in all, life is great and things in the Heber house are going great.

Exciting News!!!

It's FINALLY OVER!! The lump on Brooklyn's neck popped up back in November 2010. We took her to 3 different doctors before the 3rd one (her regular pediatritian) referred us to Children's in Seattle. She had her first surgery on December 29, 2010. The first surgery was a biopsy and they scooped out the lump. We watched the area for a couple months and when it didn't get better we took her back to Children's in April 2011 to see the infectious diseas doctor. They started her on antibiotics and we went back every month for check-ups. At her check-up in August the infectious disease doctor had us go back to the surgeon. He decided it would be best to do surgery and just remove all of the infection. On December 7, 2011 we took her back in for her second surgery. We continued the antibiots until her appointment with the surgeon in March. We got the ok to stop the meds and he said he doesn't want to see us again unless it comes back, which he doesn't forsee happening. Here's the pictures to show her progress over the last year. We are so thrilled to be done with all of this. Brooklyn was a trooper through the whole thing and she always kept a smile on her face. I'm so proud of my girl and can't believe how grown up she is!

Fashion Show for Uncle Matt

Last week we were with family over in the Seattle area. Before we left my brother in-law Matt got the girls a bunch of new clothes. They were very excited and I was very grateful. We didn't have time to put on a fashion show and let the girls try everything on, so we did one when we got home. So, these photos are for you Matt! Enjoy, and thanks again for everything!

I can't believe she's 5!!

When I asked Brooklyn what kind of party she wanted for her birthday this year, she insisted on having a smurf party. My house really isn't very big, so the kids had a picnic outside on the patio.

Image

Being that it's March and we live in Washingtong, it was still pretty chilly outside. At least we had sun for a little while though.
Image
For a game I blew up a bunch of balloons and filled them each with prizes. The kids got to throw darts at them to get the prizes..
Image
Some of the kids really enjoyed the game, even though it was pretty loud.Image
As you can see by the look on her face, my child did not enjoy the game. Apparently she's not a fan of poping balloons. In this shot she's only pretending to throw the dart. We were never able to actually get her to throw one.Image
There were even enough balloons for Drew to have his turn.Image
We had little smurfs placed all over the house. Brooklyn called our house a smurf village. Her room was filled with hanging butterflies.Image
Opening preasants.Image
This one was for both girls. It's kind of nice having their birthdays just a couple weeks apart.Image
I love this shot!By the way, the cupcakes were supposed to look like smurfs. I found a really cute tutorial for how to make them, but we had some frosting issues and I didn't have enough to make them right. At least they still tasted good.Image
Image
All in all the party turned out great! Brooklyn really enjoyed having all her friends at her house. I'd say the party was a success! I can't believe my little girl is 5. Time has flown by way too fast. she is growing and learning every day and I'm so proud of her. She's a delight to be around and I love her so very much. Happy Brithday my Brooklyn.

Look who's 2!!

Yesterday my baby turned 2! These last 2 years have just flown by so fast. Kelsee is such a sweet and fun little girl, and we love having her in our family. We had a pretty low key day. Brooklyn was puking all day, so we stayed home and played. After Drew got home Kelsee opened presents.

Having fun before Brooklyn got sick. Kelsee loves hats and gloves.Image

Watching a movie while Brooklyn sleeps. My poor Brooklyn spent the whole day on the couch. Image

She's getting the hang of unwrapping now.Image

More Elmo figures for her Elmo play house.Image

She was so excited when she opened her Buzz. I missed the initial look on her face, but if you can see Drew's face, Kelsee's initial look was the same one.Image

She loves her Buzz!Image

Aside from Brooklyn puking it was a very fun day! Kelsee was excited all day, and I'm pretty sure she knew something was special about her since we were all doting on her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELSEE JANE!

Snow Day

Back in January we had a storm and received a ton of snow within just 2 days. The girls and I had fun playing in the snow and building a snow man. The snow was too powdery, so it was a little difficult to make a snowman

Brooklyn loves to make snow angels
Image
Kelsee gave snow angels a shot as well.

Having fun!!

Brooklyn had fun destroying the snowman

It would have been much easier playing in the snow with a yard, but we had fun none the less.

Tantrum or playing?

My sweet little Kelsee Jane has become very good at throwing tantrums. Today I took away some markers that she was trying to color with, and a tantrum occurred. Here is the result of her tantrum.
Image
She throws these letters off the fridge every time she gets mad and is down stairs.

After she cleaned these up we went upstairs to wake up Brooklyn. This is what I found when I walked into her room. I know it was Kelsee that made this mess because these are all her toys out.
Image

Earlier this morning while I was cleaning downstairs I had told the girls to play in their room. I found it really funny that Kelsee makes a bigger mess when she plays than when she's mad and trying to make a mess.
