Lucy... Walking and Talking!

Here's our girl! Taking some of her first steps after just recently turning a year old. (I wish Jordan's face was in this video a bit more.)

Jordan wanted to turn on the fireplace and have Lucy walk there - for a more classy camera shot - but Lucy was completely excited and much too distracted by the fire (since we seldom have it on here in old Arizona!). Her enthusiastic little voice is so funny. (:

A bit of talking... She has long since learned to say "no" so I am trying to teach her "yes" to balance her out.

"Patrick's Dinosaurs" told by JUDE!

Ever read the book Patrick's Dinosaurs? NO? Well, don't worry, Jude is going to tell it to you (the latter half anyway). I can understand everything he says because I'm his mama (and I know the book by heart), but if you need a translation, read this first...

On the other side of the street, Patrick thought he saw a triceratops waiting for the traffic light. When Patrick and his brother climbed down from the bus, the hot dusty street became a prehistoric forest. Tropical birds screamed their warning! Too late. A dreadful tyrannosaurus crashed into the clearing! The triceratops lowered its huge head. It's horns pointed ahead like 3 enormous spears. "RUN", yelled Patrick! He headed for their apartment building. Patrick didn't feel safe until the front door of their house slammed shut. He wanted to look out his window, but first he had to ask Hank something. "How big was a tyrannosaurus?" (BIG.) "Up to the second floor maybe?" (At least!) "That's what I was afraid of", said Patrick. He peeked into his bedroom and sure enough, the ugly head of the tyrannosaurus almost filled his window! The dinosaur opened his mouth to show teeth like daggers...(He skips the important part where he finds out that there are no more dinos...) Patrick gave a sigh of relief... And the dinosaur disappeared!

Isn't he something?? This boy LOVES his books! He enjoys hearing them again and again so he can memorize them. He already loved this story when we found a great book on tape at the library. Some books on tape are dull... (just has someone else read so the adult doesn't have to.) But this one is GOOD- with jazz music added to it as well as sweet sound effects!) I think Jude gets his auditory memory from me... I generally remember the things I hear and can recite it back later. Provided that it interests me, of course... (:

Happy Birthday Lucy-loo!

Time for me to get back on track with the old blog and what better reason than to spotlight our little birthday girl? Lucy is turning 1 and I must admit to feeling a bit emotional about that. I love this little lady so much and it really can be a heartbreaker to sit down and think about just how quickly time has flown. I often find myself getting philosophical about motherhood/ childhood... And I think, if this life is so fleeting, even like "the blink of an eye", then how much shorter is this state of childhood, no- babyhood! It truly is a special time, spiritually speaking.
I want to do my very best each day to truly enjoy and love my children in spite of life's busyness and distractions. And to give my best effort in teaching them the things that are most important while they are still so eager to learn from me. Being a mom is not for wimps (especially when racked by the flu! Ugh, don't ask...), but there is nothing more satisfying or joyful!! Alright, enough reflection... let's see some picks of our birthday girl!

In the end, Mama's sunglasses did the trick in cheering her up!

Everywhere I go with this baby, we get delighted
 comments about our mother-daughter redheadedness!
I must admit I love it and
I LOVE MY GIRL!

Happy Birthday, Yoo-see!

Thanks a bazillion to my dear friend -Emily Clark- for taking these photos! I hang with her a lot in hopes that her sweet "mom skills" and "on-the-ball-ness" will rub off on me...

Wrestle Mania!

This is a long clip for the grandparents (and anyone else who REALLY loves Jude and Lucy) to enjoy...
It makes my heart so happy to see that they love to be with each other! I spend a good chunk of every day just observing my adorable kids (instead of getting stuff done)!

kiddo movies!

My mom (aka: Grandma Huish) once said she wished there was a camera constantly rolling in my apartment so she could just peek in on her grandkids whenever she wanted to. Well, this first little clip is a lot like that... nothing much happening except Lucy chattering away in her swing...  (this may be very dull to anyone who is not a hard-core Lucy fan!)

Jude seems to enjoy Lucy more and more these days. It's so cute to see that they already love each other...

The boys playing ball out front...

Someone needs a nap...

A little bit of Lucy movie...

Here's some adorable clips of Lucy learning to use her little voice on a Sunday afternoon (2/5/12). The grandparents will love these! (: We all love this little baby girl so much!
