Our first stop was in Cedar City-visiting Jordan´s brother Tyler, his wife Jenni, and the kiddos: Kolby, Addie, and Landry. It was great to see everyone and to finally check out their beautiful home. We had a blast playing with Barbies and lizards, eating cookies, practicing our "Wii" skills, and of course- staying up late playing "Guitar Hero" with Tyler and Jenni!
Next on our list was Las Vegas to visit our good buddy Nick Knighton- the medical scholar. Nick sacrificed precious study time to show us around the strip. We had fun seeing the sights and taking some sweet pictures. My favorite part was probably the fountain show at the Belagio. Then we spent the night at Nick´s pad on his hide-a-bed couch which was suprisingly comfortable!
From there, we drove to Brad &
Emily Clark´s house in Arizona. The drive was long, but we saw a lot of fun things on the way. We stopped by the Hoover Dam which was awesome! We also drove along the old Route 66 which reminded me a lot of the scenes from "Cars". One of my favorite parts of the drive was when we saw a dog sitting on the back of a motorcyle in full biker garb- his fur was sticking out all crazy from a funny little doggie helmet and he even had goggles on! He looked pretty pleased with himself. Allie, we should get an outfit like that for Petey!
Finally, we arrived in Merenci at Brad and Emily´s. We had a great time with them! We spent the night at their house and then, the next day, Brad gave us a tour of the Merenci Copper Mine (where Brad works). It was amazing! They had these enormous loader trucks that were honestly like a house on wheels! HUGE! Very cool.
After that, the 4 of us headed down to Phoenix where we spent the night in a beautiful four-star hotel! It's usually pretty expensive to stay, but thanks to Brad (and priceline.com), we got it for much cheaper. The room was lovely, but the pool and the surrounding grounds were amazing! There were gardens with ponds full of goldfish, lillypads and ducks. There was a golf course behind the grounds and a river between where you could take a gondola ride. The pools had flowers hanging down over the walls so there were all these bright petals floating in the water. There were waterfalls, hot tubs, and best of all, an awesome waterslide! We had so much fun on that slide that we "could have done it all day!" We had so much fun at that hotel! We laughed that it was like getting another honeymoon- only this time with friends!
After getting spoiled for a couple days at the Hotel Hyat, Jordan and I caught an 8 hour bus ride and finally crossed the border into Mexico! And that´s another story...
