Glad to be working!!!!!!

About a week and a half ago, our company laid off 10 employees. Two came from my department. Sure was quite a shock when it happened. Looking back now at the newest layoff's and thinking about some of the previous layoff's over the years, most of those people who have been let go have come out smelling like roses. They have all done fairly well and have had much stress relieved.

Two More Days!!

I've been HOME ALONE now for almost six weeks. My sweetheart has been in Utah, visiting our daughter Leah and her family, and her new baby girl, Ella Theresia Spencer. She has been having the most wonderful time. It will be great to see her on Saturday, when she flies home.
Today, Ella will be blessed by her father, Jeremy. I sure wish I could have been there for that, but, finances will not allow it at this time.
We will be out there in April for the baptism of Leah's oldest boy, Miles.
So, I guess I'll struggle through work today and tomorrow and Saturday, then pick up Mimi at the airport later that night and become reacquainted with my wife. I sure hope she remembers who I am. It's been so long. I really do miss her.

Easter Weekend and Family

Well, today is the day before Easter Sunday. My brother, Paul, is coming to the Burgh today with his daughter, Heidi. She is looking at attending the University of Pittsburgh and is here to scope out the University. It'll be nice to see him and his family and spend some time together.

JULY 3, 2008

Wow!! Another year almost half over. Time does go faster than you think.
It's been a while since posting anything here so thought I'd take a minute to say a few words.
Okay, that's enough. Probably for anyone reading this, this would be enough, but for my own sake, I'll add a few more words.
I don't really know what to say, so maybe I'll just ramble.
I can't believe the cost of gasoline, and for that matter, everything else. Everything we buy and do is going up, but our wages or compensation is stagnant. How are people to survive this time in our lives. Life style changes are a must these days.
I was watching the New York Yankees playing our Pittsburgh Pirates last week and they showed some of the costs of things the last time the Yankees were in Pittsburgh, for the World Series in 1960.
The cost of a World Series Ticket then was $7.00. Today it is $400.00.
The cost of a gallon of gasoline was $.61, today it is over $4.00.
It's going to take some work on our part to make life livable for most of us working stiffs.
The best of luck to ya'll.

Another Day, another dollar and DAD.

I am so lucky, to be able to work every Saturday. I guess the trade off comes that I get every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday OFF.
We have been so slow today, most of the day has been non-chargeable time.
Just another hour and I am done for the week. At least I got to review my Sunday School lessons and my Priesthood Lesson for tomorrow.
Today my dad would have been 86 years old. He passed away 8 years ago, Jan, 2000. I sure do miss him. Had lots of trying times with him, but the good times were very good. He was a good man and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
The one thing that I learned from him was to COMMUNICATE. We sometimes say things to others and think they know what we are saying when they may not have the same understanding as we do about a circumstance or a subject. We should always try to say things such that the other person has no knowledge of our thoughts or intent and we are spelling out every step of the way to them.
We should not hold back anything from anyone that we feel impressed to say to them that would be of benefit to them, such as, I Love You. Sometimes we don't say those kinds of things to them and then, all of a sudden, the chance is lost and we may never get to say it to them again.
Like the country song says, "Don't Blink", time goes faster than you think.
I do love my dad and respect him and his life. I think about him often and miss him terribly.
Sure do wish I had just one more day with him.
Well, gotta a hot date with my girlfriend, the mother of my children, my roomate and my eternal companion. We are going out for some Mexican food tonight, Emilianos, in the North Hills. I received a WinShare check from my company this week and we are going to splurge a little tonight.
Stay well and stay warm.

Back home, back at work after our delightful trip to Utah, Centerville to be exact, to visit our Daughter and her family.
Mimi got sick a couple of days before we left, got worse as time went on and by the time we were on our way home, she was pretty bad off. Terrible time with her ears on the plane, went almost deaf and pretty much lost her voice. At home, it'll be a number of days of recovery.
My cold is starting and by the time I get done working on Saturday at 7PM, I'm expecting it to be a little worse.
Have to work now so I'll just sign off for now.
Stay warm and well.

14 January 2008 8:13AM MST

Goodmorning one and all.
Spending time in Utah with my daughter and her family.
Couldn't have asked for a better time.
I really enjoy spending time just watching my grandchildren play, learn, eat, sleep, cry and whatever else they do.
They are so much fun and I don't look forward to leaving tomorrow except that I'll get to see my other grandchildren at home who I haven't seen for 10 days.
More later, I think.
U NO HOO
