GIFTED GORGEOUSNESS 01/26

It's always nice to make gifts, nice too to receive some
and use them in our stitching projects.

It's great and fun to show all this and the perfect place is
on Jo's blog Serendipitous Stitching on the 15th of each month
for the Gifted Gorgeousness post.
Jo gave a new turn to her blog those past months
but I'd like to keep posting about GG on the half-month day

continuer à parler cadeaux faits maison chaque mi-mois.

Christmas have been a productive period for GG
all explained with the Countdown to Christmas posts
so I only will show again my two xstitch gifts
to DD3 and to Pierre and Hector

Let's me show you some gifts I received from my SiL1
and my friend Toki from Japan

Image

They both know I plan to make a Junk Journal about Ancient Egypt
so I'm lucky to have more lovely papers to use for it

Image

Image

Image

The first homemade cards will be sent later in February and March
and I have already prepared my honey pot cards
"may your day bee filled with sweatness"

Image

Image

There is another pattern I want to try
as a tea addict I love all the cards with cups of tea or teapots
some show a pile of cups with some tea bags
with small messages
First I'm visiting my paper stash to find some pattern
which could suit and look like porcelaine

Image

Image

Image

I found and bought at the last Tisséades of Blois
a fun fabric with characters in an hospital theme
I'm glad I had time to make a pouch in berlingot shape
for my eldest daughter who is a nurse in the French blood donation service.

I'm still making felt food for Soline as she still loves to play with her restaurant toys.

wip : raviolis, paupiettes, pineapple and banana slices.

next month I'll show you why I'm rolling green felt!

D'autres fruits et légumes vont suivre,
je vous en reparlerai le mois prochain.

FULL FINISHED GALLERY SAL 01/26

Image

It's the 10th of this month and Rachel from "Ten Hour Stitcher" used to
welcome us and our Fully Finished achievements.

The blog is on pause yet but I'd like to post on the same date if I have a small or big finish to share with you

I have posted about my Wypocalypse plans last Sunday - linked to Melissa from Measi's musings SAL.

and as it's an Olympic Year I'd love to participate to the WypOlympics too.

Next winter games will take place in North Italy (February 6th to 22th)

I always send my team of journalists Nelson and Gérard and my couple of supporters Mr and Mrs Mouse.

They are renamed for the occasion : signor e signora Topolino

and they'll need some mountain equipment.

I thought about making skis in wood but it will be fragile and I chose some wood look cardboard (from food trays) and I'm glad that they look great.

Image

We had some snow last Monday, perfect time to get out and try our new equipment and make some pictures.

Image

I have shown them the mascots Tina and Milo, two lovely stoats and the Flo, six small snowdrops.

Mrs Mouse loved the cute hat they were wearing and she asks for one.

I made one for her with some white and green felt.

It's Thursday so time for Junk Journaling...

Some updates on my Christmas Junk Journal WIP

First giving some credits to the YT girls I follow and who show me most of the ideas I'm working on...

Pamela from Paper Outpost and Natasha from Treasure Book

also : Lilian Guerrero, Designs by Lu, Lindsey, Raleigh girl, Bohemian crafting,

Image

Christmas tree made with fabric squares, folded in half and glued on paper in triangle shapes so you can slide their tops under the triangle above. Still have to cut a star for the top and maybe a trunk.

I also cut this gift box and you can open it!
I found a way for the lid to be removed

I glued a white paper in the back where I might write something on

a guirland, inspired by my felt light bulbs one...

Image

I'll need some corner pages to keep some flyers
and I had in my boxes old candle holders made by a German friend
more than 20 years ago. I don't use them anymore but if I cut them they can become useful in my JJ.

ImageImage

In the signatures I have put some magazines pages with Christmas pictures, I will used most of them only as a support and hide them behind other projects but I'll keep some as this one about snowmen.

Image
Image

I don't like the two pictures on the left so I cut a cardboard to cover them with this cute snowman seen from above. I cut it in a white shiny paper perfect for the snow sparkling effect.

Image

I'm also "working" on a solution for my sewing theme JJ.

I told you about my first attempt with this journal and that I have been too greedy with five signatures becoming very thick which resulted in breaking the cover.

Image

I could cut all the signatures and make a fabric cover but I already made the inside of the cover so I decided to take over the last signature.

A small diet which will help me to repare the back of the cover later with small strips. Then I'll glued some fabric with small sewing machines for a nice finish.

WIPOCALYPSE INTRODUCTION 2026

Image

Welcome to the 2026 Wipocalypse intro!

For the first Sunday of this new year, Melissa asks us to introduce ourself, talk about our goals and projects.

https://measi.net/wipocalypse-2025-kick-off/

Retired for several years after more than 40 years of office work and a family life with 3 daughters. Now, with 3 +1 and two grandchildren, I'm enjoying having more time for all my hobbies. Lot of different DIY crafts : embroidery and cross stitching, crochet and knitting, painting and paper crafting, cooking and gardening.

Allways ready for new ideas and trying not to forget my WIPs and my UFOs.

Twelve months of blogging with the monthly posts derived from Jo's - Serendipitous Stitching blog events like the "Gifted Gorgeousness" on the 15th and sometimes the FFG and Smalls SAL of Rachel from Tenhourstitcher kind of giving rhythm to my blog. I'll hope I'll continue my "all around the year" homemade gifts or cards.

The next list is more or less a copy and paste of last year list, nothing really new as I still like all my different DIY crafts and like to hop from one to another. My sewing machine have been repaired so I hope we'll become good friends and it will boost my sewing.

On the cross stitchings WIP list, I'm close to finish the "Lady with the unicorn" and will work on cardboard stitching "Spirit of Christmas carols" and "Spirit of Mrs Claus".

It would be great to finish my goose game too!

More sewing with : jacket (s) for me, patchwork blankets, doll dresses, hats or caps.

More junk journaling : back on my sewing theme journals : finish my first JJ which is full and still have a cover problem, make a second one with all the ready works I have done, work on my Christmas JJ and begin another one on ancient Egypt theme. Posts on Thursdays.

More beads : necklaces

More wool : knitting and crochet (summer dresses tops).

More watercolor : cards and Tour de France illustrations for a 7th edition in 2026!

More felt : new small wood dolls as Breton, hood lutins, felt food for Soline.

More cooking : new recipes

More gardening : the pond "isle" which means there'll be water in the pond and no more leakings, finish the climbing plants place

More writing : blogging of course and try to write some stories I only have in drafts.

This is an olympic year with winter games in Italy, so soon in February I hope I'll be able to send my two reporters again and my supporters to share with you some sports event.

Melissa has also announced a completely new challenge with the FIFA World Cup Stitching! June and July will be, instead of "focus months", a soccer/football challenges. Matches consisting of 2 x 45 sprints, rules are explained on her blog and further details will be forthcoming in May.

Image
She also start stitching sprints on You Tube last Sunday. I manage to follow her for a while as the time difference isn't good for me. I'd like to "sprint" with her but she starts at 3 pm which means it's already 9 pm here and my day has already been very busy and my eyes not good anymore for stitching!

She might do it again this afternoon so we maybe find a link on her blog or FB to join her later.
