HOAR FROST MONDAY JANUARY 19, 2026 UP THE CAMP MCKINNEY ROAD. PART 1 OF 3

Last Saturday I played with hoar frost on the west side of the valley which was my last posting.  Yesterday I went up the east side which is predominately Ponderosa Pine and lots of recent forest fires while the west was more Douglas Fir zone.

I wasn't far out of Oliver when I came upon some indigenous horses.  This one was pretty scruffy.

Then a few miles up the road another band was blocking the road.

WHAT TO DO. THE FORECAST SAID IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SUNNY BUT WE WERE BLESSED WITH VALLEY OVERCAST.

We decided to make use of the situation and drove up the Fairview Cawston Road to get into the freezing zone which gave me the opportunity to capture today's photos.   We actually started our day by visiting The Art Gallery Osoyoos to join some of the artists for today's show opening.  Much of the other art installed was of excellent quality so well worth the visit.

PRETTY QUIET AROUND HERE THESE DAYS.

Haven't been out shooting very much lately.  I changed out my prints in our clubhouse January 1.  I have eight prints there that I change out monthly.  I drove to Osoyoos yesterday morning to deliver a print I entered in their January show at the Art Gallery then last night I drove to Osoyoos for camera club meeting.   Tomorrow I will hang two more prints at a display several of us are installing at the Oliver Curling Club.  I'm also in the process of selecting entries for in a monthly cross country photo competition.  I enter one with the camera club and three individually on my own.  Another thing I've been working on and perhaps the hardest, is deleting as many of my photos as I can.  If I have multiples that are very similar, I try to reduce that number as much as possible to save on storage space and just cut down on numbers.
