I don't think i have ever been this excited about being done with game on. I really do love the diet, because i know i can lose weight and still live a pretty normal life. We have been doing this for the past almost 6 months now, which is crazy!!
This was most definetely the hardest round for me by far. I still lost the weight, but it was much harder to lose than the other times. I'm pretty sure i wouldn't even be able to come close to running another half marathon, even of I took all day and walked half of it haha. Oh well, maybe next time.
We are just so crazy with the house and are to stressed to worry about it, so im gonna head off to bed so I can have some energy in the morning to tile!
A little insight into our life...

Long Day.
All the days are starting to blur together. Wake up, go to work, come home, paint. repeat. Needless to say, our whole house is painted after 4 days and we are getting ready to tile.
We are tired!

Big news!!
WE GOT OUR KEYS!!! We officially have a house that we can do whatever we want to, and currently we are doing just that! Hopefully all of the painting will be done tomorrow including the cabinets and the rest of the walls!
It's almost 2 in the morning and we just got home from prepping the house for tomorrow so I'm going to bed so i can wake up and be somewhat awake!

House Painting Projects: Part V
This is actually the 1st project we worked on for the house, that we started a looooooong time ago! We got these nightstands and this head board from Darci, which was super nice of her because we really didn't have the money to be buying those kinds of things. They were brown and we decided that we were very much over brown, since we have always loved brown and teal everything. We have now decided that we are in a grey/accent colors phase. So we decided to paint everything a charcoal grey and work from there.
Here are the before and afters of the headboard and nightstands... we think they look pretty dang good! Notice, they match the desk that will also be accompanying us in our bedroom. The other colors we are going to do are purple, yellow and white in our room. Here's to hoping it all looks good in the end and to never actually getting anything brand new from a store, just good ol' fashioned sand and paint!

Sorry, these pictures are hard to tell the color of everything, but you get the idea! We love it!

House Painting Projects: Part IV
Here are the long awaited pictures of our really cool and kinda crazy chandeliers! We think they turned out really well, except the big one that used to be gold and glass. We aren't so sure about the green... probably white is what it will change to but we'll see!
UPDATE ALERT!
We signed all the papers to close on our house! Holy crap we signed a lot of papers. Brighton had some issues with writing 7/24/12... it kept coming out as 7/12/24 haha but it was fun! I kept zoning out and not really paying attention when i would sign my name, so most of them don't look like anything. I'm not even a doctor either! Now all of these projects mean a heck of a lot more than they did a week ago!
Here ya go world...
This is the chandelier we found in a dumpster, left behind by someone working on their house.. it looks pretty sweet!
We got this chandelier at DI for $15.00 and boy was it ugly... as you can see from the pictures. Well we thought we would change that... again, we are not quite sure about the green... and we will probably change them to be white, we'll see!

My Dream Come True...
So i met a guy at work that directs and produces movies. We got to talking and I told him that I am a huge movie fan and i have always been interested in what it is like to be a filmmaker and to actually make a movie. I also think I would be very star struck if I got around any actor of any caliber that I knew.
Well, we got to talking and he said that he was going to be filming a short movie that he wanted to enter into the Academy Awards for 2013! So I'm thinking that i need to stay in touch with this guy and figure something out. He told me that the next location he would be filming at is a place called Floyd Lamb State Park, which happens to be about 2 minutes from where we are living and where we will be moving to! Crazy!! So i tell him that I would love to come over to the set and see how it is all done.
He said it would be just fine and would love to have me come out to see how its all made. Well... the next day i go to work and he had been there that morning. He gave Jim, one of the therapists i work with, his card to give to me. He said to have me call him about something. So i off handedly say, "does he want me to have a part in his movie or something?", and Jim looks at me and says, "why would you say that, I'm not supposed to tell you but since you guessed right, he wants you to call him so that you could possibly get in as an extra or something in the movie."
HOLY CRAP! I really think that was one of my bucket list items that i have always wanted to do, i mean can you imagine if this movie actually won an academy award! It's not like this director is a local nobody. He was Adrien Brody's acting coach! If any of you don't know who Adrien Brody is, he is just some guy who i guess won some, not that important award called, "the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Drama" for The Pianist! Hmmm kinda a big deal. I have read on some people's blogs that talked about this guy and said that you can't even get in to talk to him let alone go behind the scenes and get one on one talking time without being referred by someone who knows someone who knows someone else!
Pretty much i am excited as crap to possible be involved in this, even if it happens to be a big cheesy B movie flop. I most definitely just want to be involved and learn that business because it has always interested me, and if you ask anyone that i know if i like movies, they would probably say i would want to be buried with my movie collection haha
Anyway, cool stuff happening 'round here! I'll keep everything updated if anything happens!

Almost there!
We are signing the papers on TUESDAY!! woo hoo!! That means that we could possibly be in the house by next week! I went and did my first house fix up today. I got to put the "earthquake straps" on the water heater just in case one of those big earthquakes hits vegas again, since it happens so often that it is part of the contract to get into a house... whatever.
I felt good about it though! I felt like a handy man, hopefully i can keep that up! For now i am just excited to get into the house and moving on with our life!

House Painting Projects: Part III
Another day down and a lot more painted! Woo Hoo! We have definitely been working hard on getting this all done. We got everything done on the hutch including the first coat of sealant and the rest of the shelves painted. It is just waiting for the first coat on the shelves and the second coat on the rest of the hutch and it is done! FINALLY! It was probably the hardest piece we had to do so far.
It was a pretty crappy brown color... haha
We love the color! It looks like a brand new piece of furniture like we bought it from IKEA or something... it looks pretty good!
We also finished our ugly brown desk. It is no longer ugly brown! It is a charcoal gray, which you will notice in the pictures to follow, and it happens to match our nightstands and bed, so that should look pretty good! I'm going to buy some metallic silver spray paint to do the handles, etc. My dad has been a huge help and really makes things easier for me and it is really nice to catch up on life and memories that i don't remember haha. He has told me some pretty good stories!
I actually found out where i got my mission call to before i ended up waiting! I have seriously wondered that ever since i got my actual call. I had no idea and i didn't think that anyone knew! I'm not going to disclose it on here because i want to tell Brighton first, but i will definitely share the experience sometime! Maybe i'll add a couple funny stories I learned about myself and my family growing up!
Here are the before and afters of our desk...

House Painting Projects: Part II
I got way to antsy to wait until the other camera got home, so here are the before and after pictures of the mirror! We are pretty excited about it because it is custom designed and built by Brighton's Grandpa and she found the perfect purple color for it that will match pretty dang good for our room. Our master bedroom will be shades of gray (not the book.. sicko's) with yellow, white and purple accents. I will also be painting our desk a charcoal gray to match our nightstands and headboards.
Its going to be pretty sweet because we are going to paint the back wall of our room with stripes, so we will do (and it could be in whatever order) dark gray > a little lighter gray > white stripes. Probably a foot wide but we'll see!
Anyway, thats a few of the projects i am working on and hopefully i'll have the before and after pictures of the desk by tonight!!
There are still a few things i need to touch up on it, but it really does look like a whole new mirror and will look really good in our house! I wish i would have gotten into wood working haha, dang.
Her Grandpa can do some pretty amazing trim work and we would most definitely never be able to afford or even find any mirror close to this one in a million years! WE LOVE IT!

House Painting Projects: Part I
So i have been working on painting some things before we move in and i wanted to put some pictures of before and after of what i have done so far! Im gonna start with the hutch...
Brighton got this at DI for like 25 or 30 bucks or something and brought it home hoping to get it looking a lot nicer than it did. Well it has been sitting in the garage for a long time now and i finally got the thing out to start painting it. It was a super ugly brown color with gold handles, etc. It really is amazing what you can do with a little bit of sand paper and some paint!
I want to put up some more pictures of the mirror we got from Brighton's grandpa and the chandelier we snagged out of a dumpster. It is pretty dang sweet let me tell ya. The colors were Brighton's idea and it look amazing. I hope that is enough of a teaser to keep you coming back for more, but i will post more when i get the pictures off of the camera that is in Utah at the moment!
Oh here is another thing that was pretty amazing that happened this week. We were in need of a couch or something to put into one of our rooms in the new house so that we could actually use the room for something that we want. We looked through the furniture catalog and found a couch that we really want but were not able to afford it, at least for now. Well, one of the therapists i work with texted me and said that we could have their really really nice futon!! We went and picked it up this weekend and set it up in the living room, and I'm pretty sure it is more comfortable than our bed! We are definitely blessed!

The night before...
So tomorrow is our big painting day. My dad is coming over to help me paint a bunch of stuff before we move into the house (this does not mean the actual house, but things to put in the house). Here is the list...
1. Hutch (White)
2. Desk (Charcoal Gray)
3. Mirror (Purple)
4. Chandeliers (teal, white and green)
Sounds easy, but it is gonna be a beast to get it all done! I'm hoping we can get it done tomorrow, at least the first coats or so. I'll definitely post some before and afters soon!

Today marks the first day of the next couple weeks that these two will be up in Utah and not in Vegas :( They will have so much fun up there and get a lot of stuff done but i will definitely miss them! They are the best thing that have ever happened to me and i love them very much!
Hopefully these 2 weeks go quick! I am excited to have some time to myself but its gonna be hard!
LOVE YOU BRIGHTON AND JACKSON!!
Wednesday, July 11, 2012
Jackson has figured out how to stand up all on his lonesome... at first he would kind of pull himself up if he was sitting just right, or if we helped him, but now.. he just climbs EVERYTHING! He climbed up on the laundry basket full of clothes and pulled them down on top of himself. Of course he loved that! Today he was jumping up and down and jacked his chin on the railing of his crib and about had a heart attack. He is just growing up really fast it seems and we can't believe everything he can do and his big personality is coming up full steam. Here are a couple pictures of him standing, the ones of him in the bathtub are pretty funny because that was one of the first times he had done it so he is REALLLLLLLY excited. Anyway, enjoy!
Show off...
If only you could have been there for the scream is was making during this one haha

1st Tooth... look out tooth fairy!
So these pictures are not really showing anything, but he does have a tooth right smack dab in the middle of his gums on the bottom! That is pretty exciting because he is 9 months old and just now getting a tooth! The doctor did say that the longer it takes for them to come in, the more healthy they will be! So thats pretty awesome!
Anyway, he is a cute little kid and he will now be able to bite even harder than he already does! Woo Hoo!
LOVE YOU LITTLE BOY!!

Another day down, in more ways than one...
Today was a little crazy at work and i learned the meaning of job security in a very real way. Lets just say that i am very very thankful for my job and the fact that i love my job which then makes it easy for me to want to be there which also makes it easy for me to work hard everyday that i go in.
The reason i say these things is that we will now be down a tech due to the exact opposite reasons i to go to work. Maybe this person really did love to do what they were doing for work, but it did mot show in their ethic and conduct. Long story short, it is not hard to be replaced in my line of work and just as easy to lose your job, which could mean A WORLD of diffrence in every day life.
Just sayin... Im very grateful for the people around me that motivate me to be a better person and a motivated person. Thank you to everyone that fits that description, especially me wife!!

Father's Day
I never wrote about my first father's day with an actual child! It was pretty fun actually feeling like a father haha. I got some good ol' breakfast in bed! My favorite, oatmeal with peanut butter and honey mixed in! mmm mmm mmm!
We took a couple pictures because Jackson decided to copy me and wear the same EXACT tie to church as me. He does have some pretty good taste i must say! We may or may not have bought that tie before he was born and saved it up for when he could wear it with his suit haha.
It was a great day and i definitely look forward to all the rest of them! Cute kid... like father like son!

4th of July
We had a pretty good 4th this year! It is weird to think that we were still in Rexburg for the last one! It was nice to hangout with family, watch fireworks and eat hotdogs. I don't think it gets much better than that! Here are a few pictures to enjoy the memory!
Here is a pretty cool set of pictures we made with sparklers! They spell our name... obviously! Well i guess the "a" didn't work to well but you get the idea!
What a ladies man!!
Jackson, once again, loving the swing!
Couldn't get Jackson to look at the camera but we love this picture!
He LOVED the fireworks!
Jackson and Grandpa!
Pretty sweet looking star!
