2 months old

Image
I can't believe how the time flies! My little angel, Aidan, is 2 months old. Seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital.
Aidan is such a joy to us! He has already started smiling (not just gassy smiles either) and it just melts my heart when I see it. Josh brought him into our bed one morning to wake me up and as soon as Aidan saw me, he got the BIGGEST smile on his face! :)
Aidan is VERY soon getting a cousin and I am finally becoming an aunt...my sister went into the hospital today at around 1:30.
I am such a camera happy mommy, I love to capture as much of his little moments as I can. Hope no one gets sick of these cute pictures!

Harry Potter #7

Yes I am a Harry Potter fan! I wasn't always.
I remember when I was still living at home and my mom was watching movie #1 and I saw it and thought........what a movie for little kids! It wasn't until one day that I was very bored that she was watching movie #3 and I just sat on the couch and watched. Somehow I fell in love with it and I had to start reading the books.
Now it's onto the final chapter (in two parts) of a series that I didn't want any part of at first to a series that I can't get enough of. I'm a dork but every time I see a preview for it, I start to freak out! LOL

one month old!

Image

Aidan is one month old now! My how time flies! I love my sweet little guy, he brings me joy everyday!
One morning, Josh had him in bed with us and was looking at Aidan and said, "you have only been here for a month and yet it seems like you've always been here" It was so cute!!

Some things about Aidan:

  1. 1. he hates being undressed
  2. he is good at taking baths except for screaming when he comes out of it, but calms back down when he is all wrapped up in his towel
  3. He likes to put his hands in the way when we are trying to feed him a bottle.
  4. He grunts a lot when he is sleeping.
  5. He has a very expressive face and I love just watching it.

I am so glad to have this little one in ours lives!

In other news, about 3 more weeks and I will be the last girl in my immediate family to become an aunt............my sister Mindee is due on Nov 10th!

one week

I can't believe that my baby turned 1 week old on Sunday!

Motherhood is sure a big challenge sometimes, but my little angel is worth it! How can you resist this?

Image

I know he's just an infant and this will change, but he's ALWAYS ASLEEP! :) He hasn't been too fussy at night either.

Josh is a big help to me. We share feeding time during the night. Josh is quite the master at feeding and diaper changing. I swear Aidan screams while I change him, but with Josh he doesn't seem to. Silly boy!

Josh is a great father!

I love both the men in my life and am thankful for them everyday!

9/19/2010 Aidan's birth

I've seen some mom's post how the delivery and everything went, so thought I would share the same thing.

Well, Saturday had been a pretty bad day for me. I had tripped on my bedroom door frame around 6 pm and hurt my left toes pretty bad (had to ice them and everything). So I thought I was pretty much laid up for the night. I was also thinking this baby would be here later than his due date and I was just feeling miserable.

Well, I needed to go to the bathroom around 8 pm and noticed a drop of blood in my underwear. I starting freaking out and calling Josh to look at it because I knew seeing blood this late in the pregnancy wasn't good. He looked at it and said, "that looks very little to even worry about, everything that I have read says that if it's more than 2 teaspoons then you need to worry." So I decided to forget about it and we started watching TV.

Around 8:30, I started to get really bad pains, not like anything I had felt the whole pregnancy. I knew this had to be labor contractions. Josh took me upstairs to bed and we started timing them. The first 2 were 10 minutes apart and after that they were all 5 minutes apart and really bad. Josh then said, "fake contractions or real, I want to get you to the hospital!" (smart man)

We got to the hospital and they checked me out and I was at 2 and 1/2 cm. The nurse told me they would check in another hour to see if I needed to stay or not. ONE HOUR LATER, I was already to a 5!

So I got admitted around 9:30ish to Riverton Hospital. My parents arrived around that time and I remember once (even though Josh was there holding my hand) calling out "mommy I need you" to my mom because I thought I just couldn't take it anymore. As soon as they said I could get an epidural, I did. I can not see how any sane women could do it natural, those contractions are a beast!

Aidan arrived at 1:43 am Sunday, September 19. He was 9 lbs and 8 ounces (BIG BABY) and 21 and a half inches long. I actually tore all the way through (everything happened so fast, they didn't have time to do an episiodomy). It took me an hour to get stitched up (my doc was pretty much yelling at the nurses and had them call their director at home because he needed a certain tool to help stitch me up and they didn't know where it was) That was a pretty painful hour.

I am happy to finally have my boy here, I have wanted to be a mom for so long! (I am kind of cranky right now because Aidan has jaundice and is on lights and I hardly get to hold him....plus it's a big emotional thing for me)

I know everything will eventually work out though. I love you Aidan Joshua Bowe!

baby update again

I am still hanging out at 2 cm.... (hanging out--that sounds weird)
My doctor stripped a little bit of my membranes and I know that it's still different with every women so who knows when this little guy will join us.
I think I am starting to feel some kind of contractions, but they don't hurt too bad so who knows!
I am so nervous to have to start caring for a little one, but I am also SO EXCITED!

baby update

Another doctor's appointment, same story....
I am still 2 cm along. Doctor informed me that Riverton Hospital won't allow first time mothers to be induced until week 41, so baby boy will just have to come on his own before that if we don't want to help it along. So who knows when I will go into labor. I haven't even been getting any kind of contractions so...................baby will come when baby comes!
:) He just needs to hurry! I really, really just want to hold this little man in my arms!

baby update

I am currently dilated 2 cm and am effaced at 80%. When I left my doctor's appointment yesterday he said, " See you next week unless we meet in the hospital before that"

3 Wonderful Years

Image 3 years ago today I married the man of my dreams!

Like every marriage we have had our ups and downs, but we have made it through because of love. I can't imagine me spending my life with anyone else than Josh! He just "gets" me like no one else can. He doesn't mind that I'm goofy and awkward (probably because it suits his personality too)
:) I just love this man so much!

32 weeks

Image
I am currently 32 weeks along.....crazy how the time flew by!
I have to say..........I am starting to feel nervous about Aidan arriving. I want him here so bad and yet I feel like I am FAR from ready for the big day to come!
I am grateful for all those that have been and will support me through this though. :)

wedding

My younger brother Jon got married on Saturday. He is married now to Lucie. Lucie is from the Czech Republic and doesn't speak English yet. It will be interesting as she learns more English, but kind of fun to see happen. This is a picture of them coming out of the temple.

My friend Katie kept telling me I should buy a new dress for the reception. I was very hesitant because I wasn't sure that I wanted to spend a lot of money for a dress that may not fit me for very long. The morning of the wedding though we had to go shopping for a present. (It was a very busy last part of the month for my husband so this is the only time we had to get a present) So I made Josh take me to Target and I just decided that I would try and buy a nice white blouse to go with one of my black skirts. I found this really cute dress though and I'm happy that I bought it.....I liked how I looked in it!

HOLY COW!

Why did they have to change the way we change our background? They say it's much easier to use, but it just screwed everything up and I had to take more than an hour trying to get it back to normal......thanks blogger. I hate you!
(needed to vent...so frustrating)

What A Weekend!!

This has been an insane weekend to say the least. Not that it was bad, it was just filled with a LOT of stuff. First of all, Friday night we had a "sleepover" up in Midway where Josh's parents are staying during their trip back to Utah from England. We BBQ'ed Italian sausages and ate breadsticks and soup along with them. Then Saturday, after breakfast and hanging around til lunch, we went to eat at Ruby Tuesdays in Park City. Then we went shopping at Tanger's outlet stores.
Sunday- Josh, Matt (brother-in-law) and Linda (mother-in-law)played a music number for Grandma Woolfenden's ward. Then we went to Grandma's and had a mini baby shower for me since this is the only time for Linda to have been here for it. I posted most pictures on Facebook of the gifts but this is a bassinet we are borrowing from Josh's cousin Emily.

ImageWe also had a Hawaiian Luau for Linda's birthday with the whole family.

Monday (for Linda's actual birth date) we first went to the zoo. I love the zoo and the animals, but wish they had more big cats. :( They no longer have any jaguars and those were my favorite as a kid.

Then we had a small lunch at Wendy's. Then headed over to the Gateway for more time with Josh's family. (got to make the most of seeing them while we can) We spent, I believe, 7 hours there! LOL We just browsed the shops and bought some things. Josh FINALLY got me a Build-A-Bear (the last time I wanted to get one we were in California, but then I figured it would cost more there) I decided to get a Build-A-Bear Monkey for our little one when he arrives. Here's a picture. We named him AJAY for Aidan Joshua. I love his little outfit. Aidan can play with him as an infant without the clothing (monkey is really soft) and then we can put the outfit back on when he's too old to play for it and just display monkey in Aidan's room.

Image

Wow, full weekend with lots of eating (holy cow!) but most importantly spending time with Josh's side of the family. Linda won't be able to come back for the birth of Aidan (really, how can she judge when to come back from England and if she did--would Aidan really want to come at the time she is here...it's sad, but that's how it's going to have to be)

We will SKYPE a lot though so they can see Aidan on the computer until they can come back and hold him in their arms!

not much going on

Well, this won't be an exciting post, but here's what's been going on.
Josh and I had a Cableas credit card (that we have stopped using) but we had about $82 in points to spend over there. So we decided to buy a 4 burner BBQ. Because of using the points, we only had to spend $139 of our own money. It's fabulous! The box it came in was just SLIGHTLY too large to fit in our car, so I had to run to AF and see if my dad would be willing to bring his truck so we could get our grill home. He did it on the spot, thanks so much Dad! Josh put it together yesterday and we had our first grill yesterday too. (Just wish we could have eaten outside but it was cold by the time it was ready to use)
Josh's parents are flying in late tonight from England for a 2 week visit. Too bad this is a busy time for Josh's work so we couldn't take any time off. Good thing it's Memorial Day next week so we don't have to work that. Josh's mom wants to go to the zoo because that day is also her birthday. Josh wanted to get our front flower area all prepared and planted before they came, but with the crazy weather we have been having lately that never happened. It will sometime this summer though!

San Francisco

We left Utah around 7:30 pm to start the 11 hour drive here to beautiful San Francisco! We arrived here at 6 am California time, checked into the hotel, waited for 7 am to get the breakfast they were going to be serving, and then came back to the room to get some much needed sleep. Josh can't sleep in cars and I (mostly) can, but the pregnancy made it harder.

Josh woke up at (not sure what time) and I didn't get out of bed until 1:30 pm. A long time to sleep, but being in a bed instead of a car was a lot more comfortable.

ImageThis is a view from our hotel and I took it when we arrived at 6 am.

Image
I took a picture to show how much "sleep" Josh got on the trip here. Poor guy. I feel bad for him.
Well, so begins our vacation here in San Francisco! I am going to have a lot of fun for my last vacation in who knows how long after the baby comes.

nursery ideas??

I am trying to decide what to do for a nursery theme. Josh doesn't want to paint the walls, so I'm not sure really what to do.
My grandma is making me a quilt with a duck on it, so maybe I should do ducks. I've looked at wallpaper strips but I can't find any that I really like.
Any ideas? Anyone?

new post LOL

I didn't know what to call it. Well, I can't believe I am already 4 months along. I can't wait for the next part of my pregnancy--finding out the sex of the little one. We should be able to find out sometime during the week of May 10th.
Josh and I decided we need to go on a mini-vacation since we won't get one for a long time after baby comes. We decided to go to Denver. I have never been there so it will be an all new adventure. We already have something called a "ghost walk" planned to go to. This guy who has written several books on Denver takes you on a 2 hour walk to a place that was built over an old cemetery. I found a website for this butterfly pavilion that I want to go to because Josh has been fascinated with butterflies ever since he was a little kid. So we most likely will go there. We will be traveling with Matt and Amy (Josh's brother and sister-in-law) because we can get in a Marriott Hotel for cheap with Matt's discount. (he works for Marriott)
It will be a fun little trip at the end of April.

not much to update

Well, I thought I better write something even though not a lot has gone on.
I am at the tail end of my first trimester. I am so hoping that I don't have to keep dealing with morning sickness ( I still get a little of it). Josh is so sure that I will be totally over it and I have to keep reminding him that all pregnancies are different.
We are going to our second appointment with our OBGYN this next Wednesday. We have been told that we should be able to hear the little one's heartbeat. Then one more month and we will get to find out what we are going to be having.
I have been told by my mother-in-law, Linda, that she has finished the top of a quilt for a baby gril and wants to make a top for a quilt for a baby boy. They will be back in the states at the end of May. We will know what we are having by then and Linda will leave whichever quilt top fits the baby's sex at her mother's house to have her mother finish off the quilt. I think she made the baby girl blanket first because Heather is so sure that it's a baby girl already. She was right about her cousin having a baby boy so.... ;)
Haha. Well, that's pretty much it. Don't know what else to say right now.

Baby News

I went to my first doctors appointment today. I found out that I am 9 and a half weeks along. They did an ultrasound today and Josh got to see the heart beat moving. he described it as a big blurb moving over a big hole. The look on his face when he saw it was pure excitement! I think he's going to be a proud daddy!

anxiety

I am so anxious for our first doctors appointment! The end of February can't come soon enough. I want a better picture of how far along I may be.
Hurry up Feb 24th!

baby stuff

Josh and I finally called a doctor that was recommended by a friend of mine. He takes our insurance and also delivers at a hospital that takes our insurance. The first appointment is Feb 24th and then we can find out exactly how far along I am! YAY I can't wait. It's going to be a long month though :(

news flash!

Yesterday, my husband and I found out that we are going to be parents! It's both VERY exciting and VERY nerve-racking. But we are more excited than anything else.
We have yet to go see a doctor. So I don't know about the time I should be due, but I will keep this blog (and Facebook) updated!

HAPPY 2010

Happy New Year everyone! 2009 was a good year, the best part being Josh and I finally getting a house!
We didn't get invited to any parties, so Josh and I just decided to have a date night. We went out to eat at The Mayan at Jordan Commons. I had a great plate, but Josh kept complaining about how his plate was bland and not what he expected. Oh well, can't get a winner everytime, right?
Then we went and saw the movie "2012". Our showing was at 9:25pm and we thought we'd probably get home at least 10 minutes or so before midnight. As soon as the movie ended, I pulled out my phone and saw the it was midnight ON THE DOT! Oh well, we didn't get to do anything special at the stroke of midnight, but that is ok. I had a wonderful evening out alone with Josh!
Hope everyone had a great New Years and here's to having a fabulous 2010!
