Halloween 2012

Image
Josh made a "WILSON" shirt for Aidan and this was his Halloween costume!
We went to daddy's work (our corporate office since Josh and I work at the same company, just different place) for trick-or-treating in the afternoon. We had just walked in (we have a doctor's clinic on site at corporate) and Aidan immediately started crying because he thought we were there to go to the doctor, it was funny! He slowly started to get the concept of "getting candy from strangers" (the safe way of course) and he started to enjoy it a little.
Then right after getting Josh from work, we went to our church for ward trunk or treat. I actually had a lot of fun and I think it's a great idea (my very first one ever). We got another stash of candy. One of the ladies' in my ward was SO in love with Aidan's costume! She kept commenting on how great she thought it was. (I'm sure this made Josh feel good since he made it). Then we traveled to Aidan's great-grandma's house, Nana Bowe's house and then Grandma Rigby's house.
Needless to say we were tired, but I really enjoyed Aidan's first real Halloween experience!

Happy 2nd Birthday kid!

Image
I can't believe this sweet boy just turned 2!

We had a party with family and here are some pictures, but only of him eating brownies and ice cream (thank you to my sister, Michelle, who took the pictures). I'm a bad mommy and didn't take any pictures.

He was better this year (he cried, again, while we sang to him) but other than that he was a good boy!
We also (finally) did a blessing for Aidan this night too. Josh and I have only been back to church since December of 2011 so we never got this done. It's done now and I'm proud of my husband for doing it.

Blake/Jeanne's Wedding

Image
(This is my favorite photo from their engagements...well that showed Blake's face LOL)
Today's Josh best friend got married! It is kind of crazy to me that he got married. A lot of people thought this day would never come (everyone kept saying it, it was pretty funny) Even Blake himself didn't think this would happen.....most especially in the temple. Good for him though!
Jeanne is a great girl and they go well together.
This brings me to a goal between my husband and I.
Josh and I decided that by our anniversary next year (August 17th, 2013) that we will be sealed in the temple. Which temple we don't know, but that's not the important part :)

Free Zoo Day

July 4th at the Hogle Zoo, they let veterans and active military and their families come into the zoo for free :) Thanks Granddad! ( I didn't get a bunch of pics but here are 4)

He didn't want to leave these little meerkats :)

Had to get out of the stroller to get a closer look at the monkey.

I love his face!

The end of the bird show. Aidan was afraid of the birds, especially when they swooped over the crowd.

Bear Lake Reunion June 19-27

Image
We stayed at an awesome "castle" on the Idaho side of Bear Lake. This was our own private dock.

Image
Nana Bowe bought Aidan this chair while we were there.....

Image
.....because he wanted to sit on Michael's chair, but Michael wanted to sit on his own chair. :)

Image

Aidan was walking down the dock with Uncle Ron and started going too fast and fell down.....got this on his nose.

Aidan sitting with great-grandma Woolfenden watching Sesame Street on the iPad.

We went through Paris and stopped and did the tour of the tabernacle there.

I found this some place in Idaho and just thought it was funny. "Children left unattended will be rounded up, corralled, and GIVEN A FREE PUPPY OR KITTEN"

Image
Josh took Aidan out in the tube behind the boat. Aidan was a champ and lasted at least 5 minutes with only slight whimpering :)

Waiting to get in the boat and playing in the water with a flag.

Aidan LOVES lemons and eats them--peel and all.

This was at a Chinese restaurant  and this was RIGHT before he spilled the cup all over the table! :(

New Goal----about 4 months too late :)

HAHA! I should have made this goal at the start of the new year for a New Year's Resolution, but better late than never.
I am going to work out at least 30 minutes Monday through Friday and go walking at least Saturday or Sunday if not both since the weather is getting nicer. I am going to measure my waist at the end of every week. I am keeping a "ledger" if you will with the day of the workout and how long it was and my waist measurements.
I am also going to start drinking more water (those of you that know me well, know that I don't like water and this will be hard for me....well I like it, I just don't like the taste of most water.......yes I can taste differences in water) and I am going to try and limit myself to one soda a day, if that. (also those that know me well and my addiction to Dr Pepper, know this will definitely be hard!
I told Josh that he needs to keep me in line and make sure I am doing this. My motivation for doing this..........I want people to stop asking me if I'm pregnant again (no I', not and am not even thinking of it in the next few years).......I HATE THAT!

18 months

Aidan is 18 months old now! I can't believe in 6 months he will be 2!
He is just recently starting to walk around. He's not all the way there yet, but it will be soon. He's just been getting braver and braver everyday.
He loves to give you open mouth kisses on the cheeks and makes a sound like "ohbrwa" Haha, no one reading this will know what that actually sounds like. But trust me, it's cute! He will have his checkup on Thursday, so I will post stats on Facebook.
I am so proud of him and I love my little man!

Leap Year February 29, 2012

I always wondered why we have leap year and I finally decided to try and find some answers. I thought this was pretty good.

The leap year is a contrivance so that the calendar year (usually 365 days) doesn't get too far away from the solar (astronomical) year. You say: huh? Well, the astronomical year - the time it takes the earth to go exactly once around the sun - is not precisely 365 days. The ancients estimated it as 365.25 days. That wasn't bad as calculations go; it's actually 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes, and 46 seconds.
Now, you may think that crummy little fraction (almost 6 hours or 1/4 of a day) doesn't matter much. But every four years, the calendar would lose a full day against the seasonal year. Christmas (Dec. 25) would start to come a little earlier each year. After about 20 years it would come before the winter solstice; after 200 years or so, Christmas would come in the autumn (since the seasons are tied to the astronomical year, because they depend on the earth's slant relative to the sun) . . . and then in summer . . . and . . .
To prevent this drift between the calendar year and the astronomical (seasonal) year, we add one extra day every four years. Thus, over the four year period, we have 1461 days, not 1460, for an average of 365.25 days per year. That pretty much makes it come out right.

Looking Forward to the Year 2012

I saw this on a friend's blog post and I think it's a great idea.
These are some things we get to look forward to in the coming year.
#1- Josh's family (Dad, Mom, and Heather) is moving back to the states on FRIDAY! That is this Friday folks. This is a very exciting thing! The day after we get to celebrate Heather's 26 birthday at Sizzler. Yum!
#2- My mom's family is having a reunion down in Blanding. We did this so long ago and I remember having a great time!
#3- Along with the in-law family, I will get to take my sweet boy Aidan to Disneyland in September. He already knows who Mickey Mouse is, he loves pointing at Mickey. Also in September, Aidan will turn 2 and I will turn the big 30. But I'm staying 29 forever ;)
That's all the we have planned so far, but I believe it will be a terrific year. :)
