The end of March also signaled the end of travel for a while for me, which is a good thing in that I have things I want to get done at work, and staying put lets me focus on that.

Continuing the catch up with the week after GDC!



Though I was on my escape weekend, Friday's posted picture was from the detour sign I walk by between the remote lot where I park my car and the office. By parking remotely I get carpool credit, so I'm good with that. But I don't think I've seen a detour for either of these roads in a year at least....

GDC certainly put a crimp in my style for posting the photos from my own little personal Project 360. I've been continuing to take pictures and post them to my other media feeds, but I haven't gotten to sit down and collect them here. So let's get going on catch up!



Poster child of this one is Saturday from the airport waiting to head up to GDC. Even though GDC was the following week it still dominated the week in prep as I packed and got ready for the show!

This was a week of more live theatre and fun!



The week's headline comes from Thursday night's visit to Wicked. It was playing at South Coast, Andy had been asking to go and Ryan hadn't seen it before, so we made a trip to Oz!

Somehow I managed to miss days last week. Argh. Still, we do have some to share, including this one from Sunday:



I took some friends to Disneyland for fancy dinner, and before that we had a nice stroll along the Rivers of America. I'm glad they're leaving the south end of the rivers flooded while they do construction on Star Wars land: it would make the area really ugly with fences up here for a year!

Two unusual things happened this week: yes, I live in a climate where rain is a notable thing: the drought is real, and even a few days of rain doesn't actually help long-term, but it's nice to have.



The other thing that happened was going to see Odysseo by Cavalia. Think cirque, but with horses. Some weeks ago the white big top went up right near my office (it's visible from the other side of the building, and lit up at night it's a huge landmark). So I bought a ticket for Thursday night (amusingly, one of the "where did you hear about us" answers was indeed "saw the big white top when driving by"). It was actually quite good!

It's February and it's supposed to be an El Nino year, but for some reason the last week has seemed like July, with 90 degree weather and lots of sun. I guess it's not something one should complain about, but honestly we need the rain that we should in theory be getting. Still, it made for a pretty picture....

It's a weird week in southern California, with some summerlike heat coming through. But it was also Super Bowl weekend, and this week's picture of the week is from Sunday:



We host a Super Bowl party every year as a tradition I started back in Blacksburg claiming an event that nobody else I knew really did, and this one has grown to a monster, with 30-40 people over. It was a gorgeous day which meant we got to have games outside and keep it from getting too noisy in the house. I got linked the idea for this dip spread online and was able to get the dishes in time to set it up, and it was a definite hit!

One more week in photos gone by. I feel like this was kind of a weaker week in photos, but there was one every day, so here's the shot of the week:


This is the Irvine river near my office from Thursday. Yes, this is what we call a "river" in southern CA. When it does rain the water is routed through here. Back in the postwar era as urban areas spread, the risk of flooding during those rare rains meant that water channels needed to be made, so you see a lot of these around the area. I figured I'd show it in its normal state so that later I can show it when we do eventually get rain.
