A fabulous 80 degree day. Couldn't let it pass by without any water.

Avery signing Mommy. They had so much fun playing with the water. So much in fact that Reilly decided to sit in the table. Love, love, LOVE the warmer weather. Winter has been pretty harsh for us. But, we survived.

Finally....A Honeymoon?

Image
For those of you who may be wondering what my countdown ticker means... I'll explain it to ya. We got married 10 years ago May 19, 2000. (Yeah, that picture is us almost 10 yrs ago) A Beautiful San Diego morning. It was a great day loved the attention. (what bride doesn't?) Well, on our wedding night Jaren got sick. Like, fever, sore throat, cold sweat and chills kind of sick. We didn't know what was going on. He was sick for the first week and a half of our marriage. We had a wedding open house in Lyman, WY so we had to drive back home. Blah, blah, blah, yadda, yadda, yadda... we never got a Honeymoon. So, since this year is our 10th Anniversary I've booked a Cruise with some of our most favorite people on the earth. Finally... a honeymoon! It's not until September but oh how wonderful it will be cruising the seas of the western Caribbean on the "Carnival Dream" ship. Ahhhhh I can feel the warmth on my face now as I'm dreaming about sunbathing on the ships deck. I CAN'T WAIT!
I just had to post this. It's my Birf-day today and to honor it my friend wrote this on her blog. I love her to death and she sums up our friendship in just a few words. Love ya Aislinn... you truly are a great friend.

This is one of my BESTEST friends... Shani.... and TOMORROW is her birthday!
I met Shani about 9 years ago... in Laramie, Wyoming! I knew who she was through church but then I was called to be the Relief Society President, so she was really on my radar then. I didn't see Shani at church much and when she was there, she was usually alone. I needed to know more!
I soon learned that Shani worked in the automotive section of Wal-Mart and her hubby worked at Wal-Mart too so this kept them busy - hence the reason we didn't see them much!
Anyway... time went on, I was released and expecting M. Somewhere in there, things just clicked. Shani would come over and we'd just hang out and talk for hours! Over the years we have moved (a few times) and they have moved (4 times!) and yet the distance doesn't keep us apart!
Shani has seen me in my absolute worst moments... she even drove several hours one time just to sit with me while I cried and tried to get through the day. She is one of God's choicest angels on this earth...and she is awesome! Shani's parents are both deaf, so she has a unique ability to communicate with her hands! She is patient and loving and compassionate. She has endured many trials, including the loss of a child, and yet she keeps smiling, and with her husband by her side, she seems to be able to accomplish anything!
I love this sweet lady, and even if we don't talk for weeks we can pick up right where we left off... just as if she were with me all the time. She and her family currently reside in Omaha, Nebraska - but one day she'll see it my way and come out towards Utah! We've traveled together, cried together, and laughed together. So, with that... I want to wish this awesome person a VERY WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY. I wish I could be there to celebrate with you... but alas, you'll be here in a few months and we'll just have a big shin dig then! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MY FRIEND, I LOVE YA!

Christmas Snow Storm in Nebraska

Image

We had a truly white Christmas this year. (The second snow storm this month to make getting out of our subdivision by non-4X4 vehicles nearly impossible). We had a great time spending Christmas day as a family. We are grateful for neighbors that are willing to provide their time and snow-blowers to help dig us out. (I'm currently a card carrying member of the shovel patrol). We had between 10-12" of snow piled on top of the snow left from the last storm. The biggest issue wasn't the amount of snow but the amount of drifting snow. Can you say: "snow cave anyone?"

Let it Snow!

We had our first major snow storm of the year two weeks ago. We were literally buried in snow. Our subdivision seemed to have been forgotten by the snow plows. The daily digging out of the driveway in preparation for the plows to come through was an adventure. I couldn't resist snapping a couple of pictures of the girls all bundled up.

Lord of the Dance and the Choo Choo Princess

We spent some time on the 17th of December at the Amazing Pizza Machine in Omaha. Reilly wanted to bowl and showed off his dancing skills after he knocked down pins. :)

Avery wants to do everything that she sees her big brother do. Look at how proud she was that she could ride on the train without any help. :)
