Giving lots of Thanks

 It's been a lonely week here at the Fullmer Residence. Jake left Sunday night to Dallas Texas! He went to some career fair where all the major and minor league baseball teams were there posting jobs , and he basically met a lot of famous baseball people so he was in heaven! (The baseball winter meetings were being held at the same hotel so he was even on ESPN!) I just realized that I never posted about Thanksgiving! We made the drive with Jake's parents up to Spokane, Washington (my first time in Washington!). Jake's older sister Carly lives there with her family, and his youngest sister Tiara lives about an hour and a half away from Spokane. The week consisted of working out and swimming at the YMCA, making a yummy Thanksgiving feast (Jake's sisters did most of the work, they were great chefs!), going on our own little 'Turkey Trot' (more like a turkey walk), decorating gingerbread houses and playing with all of her cute kids. The weather was not too bad and overall it was a great first Thanksgiving as the Fullmer's!

A name and a story

Last week during Sunday school the couple that was teaching our class was talking about the day they got married and how they try to think back about what their sealer said so they can remember how special the day was for them. I turned to Jake and told him I don't really remember anything our sealer said to us..... and neither did he. So I didn't feel so bad. It was just an overwhelming, happy day that I really did try to listen, but I was so jittery I can't remember any of it! But anyone that was in that room with us.. will remember at least one thing... the name sumner. Yes you read that right. sumner.... not summer. It all started when we introduced ourselves to the sealer and he was making sure he got our names right and when he said mine it sounded close enough to Summer that I let it slide, because he was old, so I just thought it was how he talked. We walk into the beautiful room surrounded by our family members and the day I have dreamed about started going by so fast! Throughout his inspirational words, he would call us by name, and when he said my name he wasn't saying SUMMER, but SUMNER. The first couple times we let it slide, but after the 3rd or 4th time I looked around to see if people were noticing and I could see the smiles around the room knowing that he was saying it wrong. When it was time to be sealed together forever.. I was worried that we were going to be Jake and Sumner Fullmer for the rest of our lives! for ETERNITY! He started speaking and I guess my mom pointed to my dad and mouthed to him "You better tell him!" My Dad stopped the sealer, told him it was pronounced SUMMER... and we went on our way being  Jake and Summer Fullmer. It will definitely be a memory we will always remember.. and not a DAY has gone by since we have gotten married that Jake hasn't called me Sumner.

 

Good thing I love him too much.

Not only was it the coolest date ever, but it was also Jake's Birthday! He turned the big 2-6!! Our day consisted of waking up and having a yummy homemade breakfast, then we watched Jake's moms daycare all day! She has the easiest kids that come so it was a fun day. After all the kids left Jake, me and his Dad drove down to Idaho Falls to pick up Jake's mom at her craft fair that she runs for a whole week! It's huge and so many cute things! After we checked out some cute things, we all went over to Garcia's and had a yummy birthday dinner. Jake told me I wasn't allowed to tell the people it was his birthday because he didn't want them to sing to him.... but the first thing Jake's mom did was tell our waitress it was his birthday! I loved it! haha but she said they didn't have to sing but he still got his free dessert out of it. After we ate yummy food we went back to Rexburg and met up with Alison and Treagan and we all went bowling. Then we went back to the house and ate the yummy ice cream cake I made (my first ice cream cake I have ever made) and sang happy birthday. It was such a fun day and we made sure to make our wish at 11:11 on 11.11.11

 

Presents! (he had to get a pink bag.... haha it's all I had!)

 

It's nothing special... but I was proud of the fact that I actually made an ice cream cake!

 

 

It's a tradition in his family that if it's your birthday you get to light the candles! He also told me that he is a recovering pyro..... so I'm glad this situation didn't get out of hand! :)

Best Aunt EVER!

A couple of weekends ago I went down to Utah (without jake... he had to work!) to see my family! I have a sister that lives down there and then my other sister and her family from Arizona came up for the weekend! It was to get to see all their kids that I don't see very often! I really went down to help babysit all of these kids because there parents had other plans. Our fun included.....

 

Smoothies for snack time!  I guess they never have smoothies... because the whole time they were drinking these they kept saying, "summer you're the best!" My sister even called me a couple days later asking how I made them because her daughter said she isn't the best unless she makes smoothies like Summer! 

 

Playing at the park! The weather was beautiful for a couple of days so we spent every moment we could outside!

I have just been thinking lately of how lucky Jake and I have been since we have gotten married (knock on wood) with money and school and just everything! LOVE this time of year. And that is all.

Kenya run a 5k??

Today the place where I work (Pinnacle Security) hosted a 5k run for such a great cause! They are building a hospital in Kenya, Africa (get it.. KENYA run a 5k??) so all of the money we made today went straight to that! It was such a fun race ( my first official race... haha and it was only a 5k! But hey! Im not a runner so I was proud of myself) and we had such a great turn out!

 

Last night around 10:30 I convinced my Mother in law to sign up and run it! And she did!

 

She even won 2nd Place for her age group!

 

These are my boss's kids that I watched over the summer and they ran the race too!

Way to Busy!

Our last semester of school has started for us and we have been SO busy! We really only see each other at night because we are both working on top of school but it will all be worth it when we are all done (in April!) Nothing to exciting has been going on but we still manage to have fun!

 One night for FHE we made tinfoil dinners on the fire!

Jake's famous "Local Legends" team has started their flag football season and won their first game!

During the Priesthood session of conference us girls made this cute pumpkin craft! 

Night Time Adventures

I LOVE when people sleep talk... I think it is hilarious and makes my night. Well I have been disappointed lately because Jake doesn't do anything in his sleep... so boring right? Except for last night. Ready for a story?
Once upon a time I was fast asleep and all of a sudden I am woken up by a super loud bang against the wall... FREAKED me out. It takes me a minute to figure out what exactly is going on.. and I notice that Jake is no longer laying next to me.. and our blanket and sheets are not on the bed. I then hear some heavy breathing and I realize that Jake is laying on the floor... on MY side. How on earth does that happen?? So here is how our convo goes....
(S = summer J= Jake)

S- "Jake..... what are you doing?"
J- (while breathing heavy) "I don't know...."
S- "Why are you on the floor?? Did you fall off the bed?" (trying not to die of laughter)
J- (doesn't say anything.. just still breathing heavy like he just got shot!)
I stop asking questions and see if he is going to get up or not.. but then it goes silent.. like I can't hear him breathe anymore so I thought he passed out or something....
S- "Jake you need to get up off the floor..."
J- "I can't!"
S- "Why?"
J- "I got hit by the lawn buddies truck and my arm is stuck I can't move"
So then I am thinking... why didn't he tell me he got hit by his work truck?? Then he wakes up out of this dream he was in...
J- "I don't really know where I am.. but I know I am on the floor..."
I then start DYING of laughter.. I shine my phone light on him and I lost it.. We could barely breath we were laughing SO hard I had tears coming from my eyes. He just layed there for about 10 minutes not knowing what happened.. and we still have no clue! My guess is he somehow managed to roll over me... with all of the blankets onto the floor.. and didn't wake up from that. He has a huge scratch on his arm from something. and basically I have never laughed so hard. Yes.. this all happened at 2:30 in the morning.

Belated Birthdays!

I am HORRIBLE at remembering things.. especially birthdays! (good thing Jake's is really easy... 11/11) I am especially horrible around August and September because there are tons of birthdays, even more now being a part of another family! So i just wanted to make one giant shout out to everyone who had birthdays recently!

My little (even though she is much taller) sis Jessica turned the big 18!!

Carly had a bday on Sept. 2 and then the next day her newborn baby Whitney was born!

My mom had a birthday on Aug. 20 (looking young as ever!)

My other sis Lisa had a birthday on Aug. 19! And she is having her baby at the end of November!

Chad and Britt had birthdays in Aug. and Sept. (this is when we beat them at tennis! haha)

Talon turned 3!! He is soo stinkin cute and loves his uncle Jake!

I'm sure I forgot somebody.. but Happy Birthday everyone!!

Island Park

This last weekend we went with some of Jake's friends up to Island Park for the day! His friend Ace has a cabin up there right on the lake so we loaded up the jet ski and the boat and made it an all day trip! It was SO fun! It was hot outside which made it easier to get into the semi cold water (much colder than Arizona lakes). We did some wake boarding, skiing, grilled some hot dogs, took long naps in the sun, and just enjoyed the last weeks of our summer vacation!

Jake is really tall.. therefore he has big feet. So he needed lots of assistance to squeeze his big feet into wake board boots!

My life is exciting

So I get REALLY bored at work.. its the best job because me and the girl I work with try to find TV shows to get addicted to so we don't get so bored sitting at a desk for 8 hours every day (currently its Friday Night Lights). Well sometimes in the mornings it's just me so I try to find things to do. Lately I have been making my own recipe cards on picnik.com. It's so easy and they are so cute! When I get enough made I am going to print them off just as a picture at walgreens or walmart and put them in a photo album and then I will have my own recipe book! Here are a couple of recipes that I have made cards for :)
