I just recently created a graphics journal (about time right??):
it's a shared one with ghanimasun, bizarra and sayuri_x so you get four for the price of one!! ^^

All of my icons will be posted there and only there, so if there are people on my flist that want to see them in the future, just watch the comm :)

Oh and if someone on my flist is here solely because of icon purposes, I really don't mind if you just unfriend this journal and switch for the graphics one.

I doubt there will be much anything on this personal journal from now on since most of my lj activities are icon-related, but stay tuned here too if you're interested in my random memes and programming posts etc. (I really don't blame you if you aren't, lol)

Omg, yet another last minute set (well, almost). This is becoming a bad habit. Anyway thanks sayuri_x for the extra time, I finally got my set done.

So these are for the 18th round of farscape_20in20 (I can't believe we've had that many!!) and it was a couple round. My couple was Chiana and Sikozu which is logical cause they're the cutest ever. THIS TWO CHARACTERS THING WAS WAY HARDER THAN IT SOUNDS THOUGH. I can't do almost any of the stuff I usually love to do and think I do decently if I have to cram two people into them all! :p but it was a fun challenge anyway and I made it even more challenging by deciding that all of my blocking/blending set icons would be blending rather than blocking, since blending is way more out of my comfort zone. But since I also love blocking, I did some of that for the other sets :) win-win scenario!

omgomgomg I'm excited. I made a set for 20inspirations and it's my first time participating there and the theme (art) was super hard and I applied so late and didn't even expect to get in that I hadn't even started my set yet so I had to pretty much rush to make this as soon as I was accepted and yeah it was CRAZY. But fun too!

The only thing that bugs me is that I could have picked a specific artist or style or something but what happened instead? I was inspired by a little bit of this and a little bit of that and this set is soooo all over the place that's it's not even funny D: I just messed around with everything (especially the provided textures) and hoped it would somehow fit the theme :p I guess it's just that this was my first time at 20insp, and one of only two, so I wanted to do *everything*, lol.

Obviosuly, being the perfectionist that I am, I would have liked to make something SUPER AWESOME, especially since it's my first round and I'm not used to elite comms and their standards at. all. and I really really didn't want to make the mods regret approving me/make people question me belonging there, so of course I made three times more icons than necessary. I'm including some of the rejects as alts/extras here. Anyway I'm happy with most of these but wish I was super extra proud instead of mere 'happy', haha. NEXT ROUND IT WILL HAPPEN I SWEAR! :P

My claim, for some odd reason, was Star Trek (2009 movie). Which was stupid cause uh there are billions of works more suited to this theme, but hey, I enjoy nothing if not challenging myself...

Ok, I really wouldn't have had the time for this round. I had an exam week at uni and a ton of programming deadlines too, so everything has been a bit crazy and super busy for the last few weeks. Yet still I couldn't just give up and say 'nah, gonna pass this round', nope. Instead, I tried to make two full sets, one for character20n20 and one for inspired20in20, in two days. This was damn near impossible cause usually I'm slow as a slug when iconing. Soooo these are really not my strongest sets, actually some of these icons are so bad i'm a bit ashamed to post them, haha. But I think *most* are fine enough for being made that quickly and I really don't want to skip rounds at comms I like this much, so here we go.

I guess I'm into super vibrant colorings and bigger contrast and glowy things again? :p

My claim for character20n20 was the lovely and cute Willow Rosenberg :)
At inspired20in20, the theme was 'picturesque', and it was really nice combining different fandoms and even ones I've never iconned before! I really liked the idea of having to use caps picked by others, I would have liked to icon way more than ten of them.

I should be programming. Instead, I'm posting icons. Thus the mood :p

An icon set for big20in20. My claim was Battlestar Galactica and the theme for this round was geometry, which pretty much gave me an icon orgasm cause FUCK YEAH GEOMETRICAL SHAPES + ME = OTP. I MAY HAVE TAKEN THE THEME A TINY BIT LITERALLY IN THE AC SET, EH? But no regrets, lol!
Also the theme gave me an excuse to block for my life. Not that I need excuses, I'm just happier when I have one ;)
The only thing I didn't love was that I couldn't find really HQ BSG caps, so if the image quality here seems a bit fracked up, it's because it is. :p I still love the show so I didn't want to change my claim, but I'm not sure I'll be iconing it that much in the future.

But yeah, all in all I'm actually really happy with this set (well except the category maybe), and hope you find something about it enjoyable as well. ♥

Category4 + alts 2 & 3 were obviously inspired the amazing library_of_sex, cause she shares my weird love for triangles and also sorta dared me to use those lovely triangle textures by innocent_lexys. My first two attempts (the alt ones) were very much following her style, which is completely intentional and full credit to her :D just wanted to see if I could do anything in that style (WHICH I ADORE TO BITS AND PIECES), after which I felt confident enough to try something less copycatty and thus category4 was born :3

So this is for the farscape_land challenge 'Through the Years'. The purpose was to showcase how a character or relationship changes through the show, and I, being predictable, chose John & Scorpy not only because it's my otp, but also because the only shippy icon I currently have of it is so old and butt-ugly and I wanted to make some new ones! I don't expect anyone else to want them, but that's quite cool cause it gave me total freedom to do whatever style I myself like with no pressure of pleasing others, that's why these are a bit on the trippy side ;D

The challenge only demanded six icons but I'd feel awkward posting that few in a separate entry so I had to make at least 12.

These are for farscape_20in20 round 17. It was a season round and I picked season 2, obviously, having already iconned s3 and s4, and these three really are my favorites.

Anyway, I MADE IT!!!!!!!!! \o/ I serisously didn't think I would this time. I know I always complain about how busy I am but this time I've been literally programming almost 24/7. But whenever I could afford a little break, I went straight for iconing.
Because of the lack of time, this is my quickest set ever and thus it's far from the best I've done IMO, but I still definitely like them enough to want to post them :) I didn't have time for complexity or coming up with something really new at all, but instead I decided to really work on my on coloring, texture use and lighting this time around, and I hope some of it works for you.

Um, sorry this is a bit Chiana-heavy. She's so gorgeous that she's perfect for iconing. The lack of Scorpy shocks me too :p

Sorry I'm spamming you with icons again! I should have probably put the Hermione ones in the same post as these, but nah, was too eager to get those posted. So, two sets in less than a week. I hope you don't mind :p These are for the 9th round of inspired20in20. My claim was Game of Thrones, but I've only seen the first season so these are all s1, sorry :p

I just loooove how gorgeously hq the caps are, so I really took this opportunity to try more close crops, and yeah, I'm LOVING it!

The theme of the round was resources, which fits me perfectly cause if there's anyone who loves textures, that would be me ;)

Yay, this is the first time I'm participating in character20n20. I claimed Hermione from Harry Potter, and I didn't have much time to make these, but I'm pretty happy with how they came out. This post might not be as creative as some of the previous ones, because in this one I wanted to really try to focus on technique and the concrit I've received and see what I could do with it, and well, I feel that technical aspects show the best in more simple icons. I hope you like :D

The Farscape set is for farscape_20in20, round 16. The other set is a random one I made about the film I Am Number Four which I recently watched and really liked and thought it looked pretty iconable ^^

I don't know why I'm feeling so creative lately despite being so freaking stressed and busy - shouldn't those things kill creativity? - but instead I'm clinging to every second I can snurch for iconing and making the most of it. I hope this spirit shows in this set, which I once again REALLY enjoyed doing, I made these in like two days. I'm just not comfortable posting before the last minute, idk why :>
In the Farscape set, 'slash' (yay for that theme again!) is inspired by my very early attempts at iconing. I always tried to icon those images but never quite got it. I think I'm happy with it now. Took long enough ;)

(Also, in case you're wondering if you should try manipulating your html pages with Javascript through DOM just because you think it's more elegant than letting everything run on the server side, when it's required nowhere in the specification of your stupid school programming project and everyone else is just taking the easy way... ... ...DON'T. You'll end up losing countless headachy hours for nothing. Just had to get that off my chest! :P)
