I realized I had a bunch of stuff in my art folder that really hadn't seen the light of day outside of random conversations, so here you guys go, some crazy (and sexy) fucking art!

( What the crap and more! Six pictures after the cut! )
And after all that, I leave you with a fantastic video. This is not only one of my favorite songs as of late, the video is just beautiful.

Feb. 3rd, 2011 12:44 pmThe GF and I got a kingsized waterbed from Bolt's folks, fuck yeah! Unfortunately, we've been having issues setting it up and it's taking way longer than we expected it to. XD "You just stick the hose in and fill it up, right??" LOL WHY DIDN'T WE LOOK UP THIS CRAP ON THE INTERNET FIRST.
Eh, we'll get it eventually. X3 We did go out and buy a whole new set of sheets and blankets in light blue/light yellow. Fucking gorgeous.
And we've been setting up the new furniture we just got from Ikea, too. It's so pretty! The bedroom is really coming together! *3*) I'll have to post photos when it's all done~~~
In other news, I got really off my sleep schedule and decided to fix it yesterday by staying up through the day. Managed with a nap and crashed at 9:30pm. XD Considering my normal time to sleep is 4am-ish (and on my fucked up schedule I wasn't going to sleep until, like, 7am) it's bizarre going to sleep that early. But I ended up waking up at 6am, unable to sleep any longer. So I floped on the computer and did my half of the art trade I'm doing with

Oh my god, I finally got it done!
Feb. 2nd, 2011 07:30 amI spent way too much fucking time on this thing, and I am so glad to finally have it done! XD

BURGERS AND DRUNKEN PRIMES
Jan. 25th, 2011 09:21 pmYou know when Prime was holding Drunkwarp's bottle the other day for him? I tried to make him give it back, but he'd grown attached and clung drunkenly to the top of my monitor for a few days. Well, he discovered the hidden stash in the kitchen. Even Drunkwarp hadn't found that yet!

( Cut for unsavory OOC behaviour )

( Also, I made burgers for dinner! )

It's 8:30 why am I awake?
Jan. 25th, 2011 08:46 amBecause, of course, the guy installing the new dishwasher gave me the time block of 9 to 1.
Which is the time block of "waking up too early" to "I hope he's done before 1:30 so I can still make it to the Farmer's Market"
Now to drive Bolts to work, the only thing guaranteed to get me literally out of bed before noon.
At least I'm going to spend all mutha fuckin' morning drawing. Fuck. Yes.

ffffnnn ::flop:: naps are nice
Jan. 25th, 2011 12:18 amSo I spent a total of twenty minutes at work before I discovered an eighth girl had been added to the schedule. So I went up to the manager and told him that I was going home now since I was no longer need on the rotation. He apologized profusely, like he should have, and I went home.
I don't care that I put my usual commute of over 100 miles on my car or burned what was most likely about $12 in gas, I was home by 8:30. And this was with stopping at a Target along the way and buying that Rodimus and Cyclonus multi-pack for myself. .....Mostly for the little metal matrix. Although Cyc is quite lovely and Nightstick is more adorable than anticipated. :d Roddi was more.... crappy than anticipated and I left him in
justbolts' room humping a Winnebago or something.
Speaking of Bolts...
WHAT IS THIS? I DON'T EVEN

Jan. 24th, 2011 03:47 pmLife is kicking my ass right now. Worked the night shift Friday, Saturday and Sunday and somehow got wrangled into filling in tonight. UGH I HATE EVERYTHING I hardly ever work two days in a row, much less four.
I want everything to be over. I want my work shoes to stop breaking on me after three days of dancing in them, I want time to finish my art, I want time to cook and eat something healthy, I want to be at home and awake for more than two hours, I want to not be behind on all the chores I'm supposed to be keeping up with.
::flop::
I need Hussy's "My Life = The Hardest" icon right about now.
When I get time to myself there WILL be a hilarious TF:P comic posted. It's currently half done. ;^;)
EDIT: THIS POST IS TOO DEPRESSING. HERE, HAVE A DRAWING OF SKYWARP PAINTING HIS "NAILS" THAT i DREW FOR PELL WEEKS AGO.

Jan. 17th, 2011 02:23 pmLast night at work was pretty crappy, but we made the best of it by having a themed night. My friend had announced a few days prior that Sunday night would be 80's night! So we all grabbed or bought as much crap as we could and came into work.
I brought all my leg warmers and giant pink star earrings and a few wigs from cosplay costumes and some other stuff. My outfit ended up being pretty awesome, complete with three sets of leg warmers, giant pink glitter stars on my face, and blue-black mulletish wig. It actually ended up looking pretty fucking awesome. One of the girls took pics with her phone, so I'll post them when I get them off of her.
The music all night was fantastic, except for the few girls who were totally uncool and play contemporary music. I danced to a lot of David Bowie (80s songs only), Pat Benatar, Madonna, and Xanadu. X) It was so nice dancing all night to good music.
Right now I'm putting together ingredients to make my delicious veggie pocket pies. Making a batch for dinner and a couple batches to freeze for my lunches or when I need a quick meal.
They're one of my favorite things to make, because they're easy and turn out so yummy. Usually whatever veggies we have in the house (which, with our household, is a pretty decent selection) and I'll throw in whatever sort of bean or lentil strikes my fancy. I throw together a whole wheat pie crust dough while the veggies are cooking on the stove (I cook it all before it goes into the pies so that I make sure it tastes good). I season with stuff like Veggie Stock (low sodium preferably) chili powder, garam masala, clove powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice, and sometimes whatever smells good or what fresh herbs we have in the house. Then I roll out the dough, cut big circles, stick in the veggie mix, and fold it over. then I bake em. Fucking delicious. :d And, pretty easy. Maybe about an hour to an hour and a half if you've got your process down, not counting bake time, with is about a half an hour at 350.
Aaaaand the GF just came home and brought this awwwesome Lady Gaga book home with her, guess what I'll be reading tonight? :d

You're discriminating against my people!
Jan. 15th, 2011 08:35 pmSo Bolts, the GF, and I went shopping at Whole Foods this evening, and for shits and giggles I brought along the Optimus helmet to wear while shopping.
I got to push the cart. :D
Most folks stared for a moment and went back to their shopping.
Any kids I passed stared open-mouthed.
Some people chuckled out a "Nice helmet" or some such thing.
At one point, while in the produce section, a young couple with their toddler and baby in tow pointed me out to the kid "Look at that, sweetie!" I waved to kid and pressed the button on the side of the helmet which made the transformation noise. The parents then exclaimed "Look, she transformed!" the toddler was all :O
When we went our separate ways, I waved goodbye to the kid and he waved back.
It was awesome. X)
But later, all our special time was crushed when, while we were checking out, the manager came up to us. "How are you guys doing tonight?" "We're good." "Good, good. Can you please take the helmet off while in the store?" I obliged, all joy in life smashed to bits.
Were I the type to cause a scene, I think an appropriate response would have been (with voice-changer activated) "Lady, this is my face. Primus, can't a bot just do his grocery shopping in peace?"
But I like this store and there isn't another one within any decent driving range. :C So we bowed under the pressure of The Man.

Cruise Photo Post of Giantness
Jan. 9th, 2011 04:10 pmStill not home, but at least I'm off the boat!
Bolts and I are holed up in New Orleans today, because our flight was canceled due to the storms in Atlanta. :(((( We fly home tomorrow.
At least our hotel has free (and fast!) internet! *A*)/
The cruise, all in all, was fan-fucking-tastic and we (but mostly Bolts) took a fuck-ton of photos~

Bolt's much bigger post is over HERE, and she does better captions than I do.
( Cut for waaay too many pictures of Robots and Bikinis, sorry to say, these two things aren't combined. )

Oh god I hope I make it home.
Dec. 29th, 2010 04:34 pmThe GF, her brother and I were due to leave this morning, but due to heavy snow and winds through the mountains. Ugh. It couldn't happen.
So we're gonna try to leave tomorrow morning and hope we can make it through. It's literally a 24 hour drive. Which means at this point we're going to try and sleep in the car as much as possible, while taking turns driving and hope we can make it in one straight shot, making it home sometime Friday morning if there aren't any delays.
Bolts and I have an evening flight on Saturday to New Orleans and we leave Sunday morning for the cruise. After dealing with so much of my arch nemesis (THE COLD) I have fucking earned my nine days in the Caribbean. >:( MOTHER NATURE, YOU WILL NOT TAKE THIS FROM ME.
In other, more hilarious news, it got above freezing yesterday. Which meant that the snow was warm enough to actually play with! So I started to build a Snow Megatron. ::snerk:: XD I haven't done any snow sculptures since I was 17, and it was super fun.
Unfortunately, I started too late in the day and by the time I was half-finished (which meant Snowtron was a mostly finished torso, a roughly shaped head, and the lumpy beginnings of a left arm) it was getting on towards dark, so I gave up and headed in. The family asked what I had been making, and I told them "a robot". The GF's mother was interested in finishing him, which sparked comments from her Grandpa that he had bottle caps that would make perfect eyes for a robot. I was equal parts horrified and amused and played along.
About twenty minutes later, I was sitting at the kitchen table and looked out the window just in time to see Megatron implode into a unrecognizable pile of lumpy snow. XD Poor guy couldn't stand the indignity and suicided, I guess.

1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your LJ along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
What luck, it IS in intellectual book XD
It seems that we have simply have gotten slightly better at postponing death from heart disease, but we have done nothing to stop the rate at which our hearts become diseased.
The mechanical inventions that we use in this country are much less effective than most people realize. Bypass surgery has become particularly popular. As many as 380,000 bypass operations were performed in 1990, meaning that 1 in 750 Americans underwent this extreme surgery.
I freaking love this book, and I haven't even finished reading it yet. The China Study by T. Colin Campbell
It's.... really amazing and has changed the way I think about food. My girlfriend and I are vegetarian (she's more... functionally vegetarian, eating some fish now and then and she used to, on rare occasions, eat a little turkey) but this book has made me rethink my diet and we're pushing for a more vegan diet in the new year. Not a strict vegan diet, because we're both hopelessly in love with cheese still, but we can cut out most everything else, with the occasional butter or yogurt.
The book's point is that a diet high in animal protein greatly increases many diseases, heart disease and cancer among them. Now, we've read books that have pushed for vegetarian lifestyles that are fact interwoven with propaganda and it's frustrating. But Campbell, in this book, does not come off as preachy. He even states at one point that it's okay if your soup has a some chicken stock in it, or you have a little butter. It's obvious that he's not on some moral crusade to get people to stop eating meat and dairy, all he's trying to do is help people live a healthy lifestyle, with a focus on a plant-based diet.
Something I really like about the book is that it explains everything. It does not assume that the reader understands how studies are conducted and explains the process. He explains how misinformation about diet and nutrition is pushed through the media, and why we don't get whole truths or even truths most of the time. The book informs without preaching.

I cannot recommend this book enough.
