crossposting

May. 3rd, 2009 12:12 amBeen trying to decide exactly how to fill in this spiffy new journal at DW; do I transfer all of my old entries so everything is in one place? What do I do with private/friends only posts, how should I handle the comments and what not?
I imagine you can't simply "merge" the post on LJ with its brother on DW and transfer the comments from LJ to DW to have side-by-side with the others...
What happens when I make a restricted post? Does it show up as "friends only" on LJ when you crosspost it or do you have to edit that manually?
And, is it possible to use Semagic or something similar to make your posts?
I gues I'll have to find the tweak/info/test journals and see what they say about these things :)

May. 2nd, 2009 11:35 amI've been playing around a bit, looking at possibilities and what not. I'll be paying for my account with my next paycheck because so many features are what I'm looking for: the lets support ourselves without outside help and I want to support something like that.
It's what attracted me to Livejournal in the very beginning and I found it sad to see it was sold to an commercial company. So back to a fresh start with a new, fresh initiative and I hope this one will be able to make it!
I'll be crossposting though; I know a few, if not most, friends on LJ won't make the switch. Does anyone know if I can make a feed of the friendspage in LJ and add it to the reading page here? And if you can, will it also show the "friends-only" posts of my friends or just their public ones?
And, not to be greedy, but do we think there'll be just one more round of invite codes?
I'd love one extra to take the username that I use on LJ and in other places aswell, just so it is mine. I've had it for so long, it would look odd if someone else took it you know? Would feel off... :(
