In GOOD FORTUNE, a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).
The final trailer for Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas, with Keanu Reeves participating, has been released. The movie will be in theaters on June 6th.
New project for Keanu:
Keanu Reeves (John Wick) is now confirmed for Ruben Östlund’s anticipated upcoming film The Entertainment System Is Down and we can reveal that he’ll be joined in the cast by Kirsten Dunst (Civil War) and Daniel Brühl (Rush).
We can also reveal some intriguing plot and production points about the social satire.
We are told that two-time Palme d’Or winner Östlund has bought a retired Boeing 747 for the project, with the plane set to be used full scale for the shoot in a studio.
Set on a long-haul flight where the entertainment system fails, the film will see passengers forced to face the horror of being bored. We hear that a bunch more well known cast will be joining the project, which is scheduled to shoot in early 2025.
In preparing the movie, the Swedish filmmaker was inspired by a social psychological study at Virginia University called ‘The Challenge Of The Disengaged Mind.’ The experiment found that participants did not enjoy spending 6 to 15 minutes in a room by themselves with nothing to do but think. To take the experiment one step further, the researchers added a twist: With the touch of a button, the test subjects could, if desired, give themselves a harmless but very painful electric shock. It turned out that a quarter of all women and two-thirds of all men chose to press the button. One man even found being alone with his thoughts so unbearable that, during the 15 minutes, he gave himself 190 electric shocks.
The project will be Östlund’s second English-language film and seventh feature after The Guitar Mongoloid (2004), Involuntary (2008), Play (2011), Force Majeure (2014), The Square (2017) and Triangle of Sadness (2022). The last two of these won the director the Palme d’Or in Cannes, meaning he is one of only a handful of filmmakers to have won the accolade twice.
The film will be a Swedish-German-French co-production, and will reunite the director with his longtime colleagues, producer Erik Hemmendorff of Plattform Produktion and producer Philippe Bober from Paris-based Coproduction Office, which is also handling world sales.
Interest is understandably high and pre-sales are expected to close at this week’s Cannes market, the project’s first. Reeves was first reported to be in talks last month by Variety.

Ana de Armas is out for blood in “Ballerina,” the upcoming spinoff to Lionsgate’s successful “John Wick” franchise. And she’s got a question for Keanu Reeves.
“How do I start doing what you do?” she asks the legendary hit man. “Looks like you already have,” Reeves notes wryly.
The trailer that Lionsgate shared during its presentation to theater owners and executives at CinemaCon on Wednesday was heavy on ass-kicking, with de Armas’ assassin making short work of several assailants, torching a truck with a flamethrower, leaping from moving vehicles and engaging in brutal hand-to-hand combat in a burning building. Think de Armas’ bone-crunching sequence in “No Time to Die” stretched over feature length with a much, much higher body count. She also dances, sticking a landing like Margot Fonteyn when not wielding firearms.
The movie unfolds between the events of “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” and “John Wick: Chapter 4.” The film follows de Armas, who plays a ballerina-assassin (that old chestnut!), hunting down the murderers of her family. Reeves’ appearance drew loud applause from the theater owners he’s made a lot of money for over the decades.
“Ballerina” surrounds de Armas with some familiar faces in the “Wick”-verse, including Lance Reddick, Ian McShane and Anjelica Huston, who have all appeared in previous installments. “There is an anger in you,” Huston observes of de Armas. “You seek vengeance on those who harmed you.”

Time to get excited folks, a new Matrix is in the works, here’s the exclusive report from Variety:
Get ready to re-enter the Matrix.
Lana Wachowski is set to write and direct a fourth film set in the world of “The Matrix,” with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively.
Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will produce and globally distribute the film. Warner Bros. Picture Group chairman Toby Emmerich made the announcement on Tuesday.
“We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana,” said Emmerich. “Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.”
In addition to Wachowski, the script was also written by Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell. Wachowski is also producing with Grant Hill. Sources say the film is eyed to begin production at the top of 2020.
Warner Bros. has been trying for the last of couple years to find a way to get back into “The Matrix” universe, but a hold-up over producing rights slowed the project down. Over the past couple of months, the studio saw an opportunity to ramp up development, with Reeves boasting a strong summer that included box office hits “John Wick 3” and “Toy Story 4” and a script from Wachowski that drummed up excitement.
Plot details are currently unknown, as is how the role of Morpheus will be handled, originally played by Laurence Fishburne. Some sources say the role may be recast for a younger take.
The three previous films —“The Matrix,” “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions” — have collectively earned more than $1.6 billion at the global box office. All three were written and directed by Lana and her sister, Lilly, and starred Reeves and Moss.
“Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now. I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends,” Wachowski said.
The first “Matrix” had its 20th anniversary this year, marked by special screenings at select AMC locations starting on Aug. 30.
Wachowski is represented by WME, Circle of Confusion and attorney Peter Grossman. Reeves is represented by WME and Ziffren Brittenham. Moss is represented by WME, longtime manager Elizabeth Hodgson and attorney Bob Lange.
