A few bests, (meats)
In the 30+ years ive been sentient, a little less than 15 of those I would consider myself a foodie.
but linner yesterday reminded me that there are a few best's
Best lamb ive ever had was at Chef Du Jour, it was lightly salt rubbed and grilled/brazed to perfections, falling off the bone with amazing tenderness. I drool now probably a bit over a year later.
Best chicken, I had yesterday at The Nob Hill Bar and Grill, it was a Chicken Confit Pasta, Ive rarely been amazed by chicken, its often good but not amazing, this was amazing, very tender very flavorful, nice and moist, it was amazing. pasta was tasty too, but the chicken was really really good.
best sushi I had was at a no name place in NYC (literally it had no name) people I was with bought 2 $100 platters of sushi from this shoebox of a place, allong with a bottle of "the Devils quivering tongue" sake, the sushi plates came fresh from all over the world, and they were amazing, even things like mackerel, and squid which im not a fan were really quite good.
Best pork ive ever had was wild boar chops (although some of Gabe's bacon is close to the top) From McGraths. but a close third was my own salt brined ginger lime marmalade bbq grilled chops.
Best steak? strangely enough i cant think of a best.
