I Skim through the TED talks fairly frequently. (TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design), and i must say many have earned my respect by getting me to think aobut something i had not considered in that way before.
This one (video im attempting to link below) I have thought about it before and it mirrors my own analysis of things pretty well but it is said better than I think I could put it. Yes its about 16minutes long but if nothing else its worth it for the slide show.
I have read Daniel Quinns 'Ishmael', And 'the Story of B', and 'Beyond Civilization' Thought his views on tribe were intriguing.
I liked many of the concepts in Doctorow's 'Eastern Standard Tribe'. I think they all mesh with this talk pretty well. Almost to the point where you are almost nonplussed by agreement. but all in all he does it well!
