Grateful

So this whole keeping up with events is not working!  No time really!  Pictures will have to wait.  Maybe a review of the year will work!

Thanksgiving was this week and I have had time to reflect on what I am grateful for.

My husband - Mike.
He is my rock and the center of my universe.  He is my best half.  I love him for all the support he gives me every single day.  It might be cheesy to say on Fbook how wonderful he is, but I want everyone to know he is amazing.  He calms my fears and helps me see things in perspective.  He makes me laugh and treats me like a queen.  I love how dedicated he is to our little family and providing for us.  He works so hard and is very driven.  Also, he is so goodlooking!

My Family.
They are truly the best.  They know me through and through.  I couldn't imagine my life without them.  They are my life.  I talk to my parents and sisters every single day.  Send text messages all day long and they still aren't tired of me!  My biggest challenges they have supported me through and have never given up on me.

Family in-law - The Fairbanks.
They are all so good to me!  I have felt so loved these past 3 years being apart of their family.  The sister in-laws/mother in-law are so wonderful and I love them very much.  I learn from them and I enjoy spending time with them! We get along great and it is fun to have a new family to belong to.

Cancer Free.
I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia back in February 2010.  It was so hard to know I had a disease, but I always felt comforted by my Heavenly Father to know everything was going to be okay.  Cancer has brought a new outlook on life - don't take things for granted and feel blessed for what you love.  I have been humbled to know that Heavenly Father has a plan just for me.  My plan was to have cancer, to learn from it, and gain a greater testimony of the gospel.  Getting the call on August 22, 2012, just 2 1/2 years from being diagnosed, I was completely overwhelmed with emotion.  I couldn't believe I was free from a disease I had for more than 2 years.  Knowing I am clean makes my dreams so much brighter and makes me want to live a healthier life!  I feel so blessed to know my prayers were and are always listened to.  Heavenly Father KNOWS me.  He loves me and knows what I am going through.

MnMs.
I said I was grateful for MnM's at the Thanksgiving table and it is soo true.  They have been my favorite treat since I could eat chocolate.

I feel very blessed this year!

That Summa of Mine

It is already the middle of August.  Where did these last couple of months go?  We have been so busy!  Here's what we have been up to!

Image
First off, our beautiful Ashy had her baby boy, Kooper James Riley!  He was born in April but I just barely had the chance to upload this picture!  What a cute boy he is.  We are so excited to be Aunties!  I always say, can I please hold my baby, and Spence just glares at me!  haha  but I don't care!

This crazy girl graduated from Westminster College! Kenz is now officially a certified Nurse because she passed her boards!  We are so proud of her.  She is dang smart, but don't tell her I said that :)

Our father always wants us to take pictures right in the sun.  We always tell him it isn't going to work.  It is a fabulous picture, but I wish our eyes weren't so squinty!

This next round of pictures were a Father's Day gift.  Our very talented friend, Melinda, took these pictures for us.  She is so good at what she does.  They turned out so beautifuly.  These are my absolute favorites.

My best friend, Jillian, returned from a honorable mission to Tennessee on June 13.  We were so excited to have her back.  I missed her so much.  We decorated banners and waited for her on our street, and when she and her family drove up we ran to the curb.  She was laughing and smiling so big.  The coolest thing about her coming home was that my dad saw her in the Denver airport before any of us!  Lucky him!

We also made it to the cabin!

We always have to take pictures after church by the red barn!  The first picture of all of us together at the cabin since Jill left!  So neat.  And a Kilpatrick sandwich!

Forgot about this one.  Makes me laugh every single time!

Well, this is only the beginning.  More to come!

Next in line...birthdays, get togethers, and The Fairbanks Family Church History Road Trip.
Until next time.

Just the weekend.

It's the weekend.  And we are at the cabin.  The whole family is up here as well.  It has been a nice time so far!  The weather is beautiful and perfect.  General Conference has been inspiring and being with the family is awesome!

The Cabin has been so fun to come down to and I am grateful I am able to come here!  It has created such fun memories!  These pictures are fun memories we've had up here.

I wish.I love.

I wish that it would stay sunny and warm
I wish I had my own tulip garden
I wish I could play outside instead of sit at work and look outside
I wish I had a clean car (it has not been washed for a very long time)
I wish I had a nice pedicure with cute toenail polish
I wish I could avoid chocolate...such a weakness!
I wish I could go on another vacation!
I wish my hair would do itself, plus have a live-in stylist

I love long walks with the hubby
I love springtime
I love tulips
I love going to my mom's for lunch break and not wanting to go back to work
I love my spring/summer sandals
I love watching my hubby sleeping...he's so cute
I love new salad recipes
I love rolling the windows down and letting the wind blow through my hair
I love laughing with my sisters

I love my life.

Life is Good.

This blog needs an update!  It is hard to sit down to blog when you have a million of other things to do and pictres are still on the camera and another computer!  More pictures in the future.  Promise.

Life has been great in the Fairbanks house.  We celebrated a fun month in Feburary with Vegas, going to the Dirt, Valentine's, birthdays, and hanging out with family and friends.  It was a really great month and I can't believe it went by so fast.

We are now into March and things have been just as great!!  We've celebrated quite a number of birthdays along with mine which was just a week ago.  Last weekend was amazing as Mike surprised me with different presents through the weekend - shopping spree, movie with friends and family, and fun gifts.  The weather was just beautiful for my birthday so it made it much more enjoyable! The party with my family was so great.  Yummy mexican feast, presents, chocolate cake, homeade chocolate brownie ice creams just to name a few.  I was absolutely spoiled!  But why not?  Everyone should be spoiled rotten once and a while!

Exciting news!!!  Our One Year Anniversary is tomorrow!  It has really been a year.  Seriously.  This 364 days has been the best year of my life as I have spent my days with my best friend, loving husband and companion.  I love him more and more everyday!

Guess what the secret ingredient is?

In my family, we love to play the secret ingredient game...well mostly my dad and I.  My dad and I have the best taste buds around and usually win this game.  Last night I played this with the hubby.  I (we...he likes to butt in) made chinese stir-fry.  We got our plates filled, sat down at the table, and here's how it went:

wifey: "What is the secret ingredient?"
hubby: "What??? (with a weird face)"
wifey: "What is the secret ingredient?"
hubby: "What?  I don't get it!"
wifey: "I put something secret in this!"
hubby: "I still don't get it, what are you talking about?!" (still has weird face)
wifey: "Fine, look you have the secret ingredient right here!!" (as I am pointing to it)
hubby: "Oh, almonds?"
wifey: "Yes, almonds!"

I don't think hubby likes this game, especially when he is hungry and doesn't want to be bugged about silly things...I bytheway love this game, and will probably keep playing it!
